Your "disney" bank

I'm making myself a "disney" bank. I read awhile ago how people collect their pocket change for their WDW trips. I started doing this. But I didn't have anything to put it in. So, I am making a bank for my change. I just painted a ice cream tub black. I will be painting disney stuff on it in white when it dries. Anyone have a special tin they put their change in?

I like to save my silver change. Around here, I have to hide it, or it will disappear. I usually use an old Chubs wipe box. Now I need to find something differnt.

We save our pocket change too. We just throw it in an old coffee can then roll it up...and I store the rolls in a CRUNCH BAR tin.

I have a really cool "BIG AL" country Bear ceramic bank that I got as a gift many years ago.
I still fill it with pocket change to save for my next trip!

I haven't seen that bank ever again at WDW, but it's a good one! Last trip I rolled over $250 in change from that bear!

We keep ours in a clear gallon glass jar (cranapple juice, I think. Thank God for bladder infections. ). Good idea to decorate the jar. Time to run to the store and get some Mickey stickers!

You people are so crafty!

My spare change goes to the little thingy in my car to be used for tips at parking lots, gas stations, grocery stores, etc.!

I hate having change in my wallet! It makes my purse so heavy!

For years I have used a white barrel bank that I got in Atlantic City at James Taffy. It came loaded with taffy, but now is loaded with silver :D I keep the pennies in a little ceramic jar with a cork top thats labled "Girls Night Out".

Im currently attempting to save for a new car, so Disney trips are on hold for a little bit (but I have a "special" credit card with a zero balance for that, just in case ;) ) so Im in what Im calling 'miser mode'. Ive even been shoving singles into the barrel bank to help save!! :hammer:

I have a bank account that I fill for vacations. It is the only way I can actually save money. If I put this money in my checking account I will spend it without batting an eye. The account I have set up cannot be touched unless I go to the bank and withdrawl from it. Right now I have a little over $600 saved and plan on putting most of my next paycheck in it. I smell a trip coming on. :D :sohappy:

Decorating it is a great idea. We keep ours just in a big penny stick pretzel jar. We use to keep in a big huge glass jug but it broke from the pressure of all the coins. My daughter is also saving for her first trip (though she does not know she is going). She has a piggie bank that I got for her when they threw me a "man shower" when my wife was pregnant. It is a pink piggie tha plays the "It's a Small World" theme when you drop a coin in.
