No they stoppes him at AK. He was trying to use the no bag line with a backpack. There are still ways to smuggle stuff in. No, I am not telling anyone how. Just observešŸ˜
It was Disney Spring in a parking garage. Not the no bag line at AK.

Don't mix the two events.

Yes, someone was stopped at AK last month, but ALSO, as reported on Jan 3d, someone carrying a concealed weapon unlawfully was identified by dog and arrested at Disney Springs on NYE. Reported in a blog post, but not, surprisingly, by local or national media.

I am surprised they have never made a museum about the park history. It could be at a resort. I am sure there are plenty of items to display, films, models, and pictures just lying around they could use. People would love it.

There are a few bits in One Mans Dream at Hollywood Studios. Also the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco has some on the creation of Disneyland and the Florida Project (of course Walt had less to do with the opening of WDW).

Yeah, those are good. I would like to see more park history. About the building of the parks and attractions. What it looked like then. Closed attractions. They always have a story for lands in the parks and such, this would be a good place to display that as it isn't in the parks.

I think if they had it outside a park, it wouldn't ruin the magic some people get worried about. And it would be a huge hit for a lot of people. A theater with a documentary or 2. And of course a gift shop. Like the moms panel, you could probably get a lot of people to donate time to get it going and not pay too much.

For small amounts of background on the lands and the design then the Imagineering Field Guide series of books is OK https://www.amazon.co.uk/Imagineering-Field-Disneys-Animal-Kingdom/dp/1423103203

I don't think that many people would be willing to pay for it unfortunately. More likely that some things will be added to One Mans Dream.

Ah had not seen that. Never made it to national news.

As a CCW holder I have never really seen the need to carry on property. Now off property that is another story because I go outside of tourist areas.

Expanding on the history of the parks, I am more inti the books. I have a few for Hershey Park before it became an amusement park and up to modern informtion. I am just really into the history of parks. Especially construction and updates.

I laugh when people see K-9's outside the park or at Disney Springsand say "ooh, look a drug dog!"

Those dogs are trained to detect ordinance and weapons. Disney most likely doesn't care if you have narcotics on you. Marijuana isn't going to explode and cause injuries.

Likewise the TSA and most customs ports unless you are packing quantity. a little is not on their radar.

I actually hadn't even heard of the AK incident until your post and I looked into it. As larryz said, it's weird how little coverage they're getting. Although in the case of AK I suppose it might be because it seems like a genuine accident.

As I understand it, Disney used to check your weapon and secure it for you. But they ditched that policy. I am ok with having to check it, prefer it to leaving it in the car. I'd like them to start checking a firearm in again. Yeah yeah lawyers this lawyers that.

It is theater now. I am dubious about they just "happen" to find a gun or knife and it not making national news. Seems more staged than anything so they can pat each other on the back. It makes the sheep feel better. If bad guys wanna do bad things they will, that stuff does make national news.

OR

There are legitimate bad guys testing the system on purpose. Even with the so called security at airports you would be surprised to know what and how much stuff actually gets through. Lets face it, security is hardly ever well paid.
