Yacht Club Advice

We are Disney vets...been visiting since 1971! BUT this is our first time at an EPCOT resort-the Yacht Club! I would love some expert advice on a few things because after reading reviews, etc I am getting a little nervous of our choice. We have stayed the past 2 years at the Wilderness Lodge but really got an amazing deal for the Yacht Club.
1. Main question- we are booked for a "garden view" room but I really want to request a good location to pool, possibly the Beach Club because that is where I understand the quick service food places are and of course a little closer to the International Gateway.

2. Advice on breakfast quick service places to eat...not too far off but somewhere walkable and decent.

3. How are the buses?

4. Best places to "plant" ourselves at the pool-we have a 9 year old boy who adores the water and slides.

1. Request a room near the lobby/elevator. This will ensure your walk to pool/food/buses is not too long.

2. For a quick serve, there is a continental breakfast in the Yacht Club lounge, but if you want more variety or a something hot you will need to walk to the Beach Club Marketplace. Another option is to stroll around Crescent Lake to the Boardwalk Bakery.

3. Buses are fine. You should always get a seat in the morning because Yacht is picked up before Beach.

4. The entrance to the slide is actually outside Stormalong Bay, so you may want to find seats where the slide dumps into the water. Truthfully, unless you arrive early in the morning, you may not have much of a choice in where to "plant" yourselves. Stormalong Bay is very popular and sometimes finding chairs anytime after lunch can be a challenge.

Boardwalk Bakery is really good

Buses should eb fine as listed above. Walking or boating to DHS and Epcot is of course easy. You can also walk thru Epcot and catch the monorail to the MK if you want.
