Xmas at WDW?

just like the title says.
me and my family are going november 25th-december 5th.

i just wanted what its like at xmas.
which water parks (if any) are open?
is it busy (we usually go in september,whats it like compared to then?)
what is the best stuff to see,like what shouldnt we miss

and generally anything else you good people think is helpful

Truly a magical time of the year. The decorations are awesome, the special events (well, special) and as long as you go after the Thanksgiving rush, and before Christmas week proper, the crowds are not bad at all.

you will be there basically the same time as us. We are going Nov 24th thru Dec 3rd. We are staying at the Beach Club. We are hoping that our first 2 days are lighter as we know the actual T day holiday weekend will be busy and then have a quiter 3 days after to re do things or see some things we havent.

This time of year is awesome, if your plans allow check out the Christmas Party is pretty cool to see it Snow on mainstreet.

ive heard that the decorations are mind blowingly magical,is it true that they make it snow down mainstreet at the mickeys very merry xams party?

ive just read that typhoon lagoon is shut november thru december,that pretty dissapointing TL is usually a must go thing that we do.

what is the temperature like,maily at nite,ive heard that it gets pretty chilly at nite.

Yes it does snow on Main Street during MVMCP.

It does get cold at night so pack accordingly. We go the 2nd week in November every year and it is warm and gorgeous during the day, then a little chilly at nighttime. But closer to December it could be cold all day, and pretty chilly at night.

i live in briton and its always cold here so im trying to find if it is cold for florida (which mweans it will be warmish for me.lol.) or just cold in general

My now wife and I were engaged in Disneyworld the week of December 10th 2006 and we can't wait to go back during Christmas season again!! The decorations were amazing, everything was just so awesome! And by going between Thanksgiving and Christmas like that, as you are, you miss the big crowds. I personally think that is just about the best time of the year to go! My wife and I both Love Christmas AND Disney so it's a perfect combination for us! I thnk you'll Love it!!

I went to WDW last year during Dec 8th to 19th. My DH and myself went and it was truly the best vacation ever!!! We went to two of the MVMCP (both sold out BTW), and ate at numerous restaurants. We only waited the longest 20 minutes, and that was TWICE during our entire vacation. If you plan the vacation well, you'll have a stress free vacation. MK has the MVMCP parties, but it also "snows" in MS:USA. The park is decorated in Christmas decorations. Epcot is decorated as well. DHS/MGM has some great decorations...but Osborne Lights are truly beautiful at night. Streets of America is completely decorated in Christmas lights, dances to Christmas music, and "snows." It can truly take your breath away. AK is decorated as well. You have to check out the deluxe resorts because it's truly breath-taking. There are many activities that you can do that are Christmasy. DH and I booked a sleigh ride at the WL after our ADR at AP. It was truly romantic.

Christmas time is a great time to visit and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time!

If you have access to the Travel Channel, I suggest you watch the "Samantha Brown's WDW Holiday Special" so you can see all the magical holiday offerings WDW offers during the Christmas season.

Some of the highlights are:

Magic Kingdom's "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas" party.

Epcot's "Holidays around the World" and the candle light processional.

Disney's Hollywood Studios' "Osbourne Spectacle of Dancing Lights."

Animal Kingdom's "Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade."

The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian resort & spa.

"Chocolate Christmas Carousel" at the Beach Club resort.

Holiday African Edible Diorama at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

And don't forget that there's still a lot of other Christmas trees and Christmas decorations that can be found throughout the entire WDW resort.

BTW: It can get cold enough to snow in Florida during the winter months.

We're talking about temperatures that can get down to the low 20's to upper teens.

However, the average winter day temperature in Florida will probably be with a low of 48-52 with a high of 59-64.

I definitely think it's too cold to go swimming during the winter in Florida, yet you can still find plenty of vacationing families swimming in WDW's pools even when it's cold outside.

Christmas at Walt Disney World is extra magical.

The week between Christmas Day and January 1, though, is one of the most crowded times at WDW.
It's good that you are going before that.

when my parents to us as young children, we would only go when it was chilly, and had Christmas decorations. The first few times we went when it wasn't Christmas just felt really weird. It still doest feel right to be at Disney without a jacket. but i do love all seasons there.

During our 11 day/11 night Dec '07 vacation was the weather for most of our trip was around 70's degree, except one day & evening it was 30 degrees the entire day and evening...and there was also 30 degree winds the entire time...now THAT was a cold day/evening in the parks.

Prepare for a jacket and jeans or long pants at night mostly. If you have time, go to the other resorts and see all their trees and decorations. Especially the gingerbread house at GF and WL lobby. Also, Osborne Lights at DHS. Its a beautiful time to go. have a magical vacation.......

Nice time to go. I wont repeat what has been said before only to say the weather can get very warm or very cool during that time of year. We usually are in shirt sleeves during the day and sweat shirts in the evening. Our favorite time of year at WDW.

Great time of year. The decorations are beautiful. But the parks will be CROWDED! We went for the holidays a couple of years ago and the day we went to Magic Kingdom they actually stopped letting people in for a few hours in the afternoon because the park was filled to capacity.

When I was a CP, I had the fortune to be there during Christmas. I have to say the first week of december is paradise. The weather was not yet too chilly, but all the Christmas stuff was in full swing, and the crowds were light.
I really enjoyed seeing the Santas around the World at world showcase in EPCOT (every country has their own version of Santa who does something like tells stories or whatnot), and I went to as many of the different resorts as I could to see the christmas trees. My favorite trees had to be the tree at EPCOT, and the tree at AKL (decorated with handmade african ornaments that year... very beautiful).
It's a really magical time. I intend to get back there sometime during that first week of December.

Christmas in WDW is the best time to be there. The decorations and the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are awesome. The people are in a festive mood. You really get into the Christmas Spirit when you go during this time.

We've been going the last week of November, which has been great, we have been going to the Christmas parade taping activities. But this year Thanksgiving falls so late that we may go the first week of December instead. We are thinking that the Saturday after Thanksgiving will be too soon for the taping.

when we've been at Christmas its always in mid 70s to low 80's during the day and probably upper 50's at night so bring sweatshirt for the evening
