WRE coming to DCA?

The one great ride that was never built may finally get built at DCA, Jim Hill is reporting. I think it's a greta idea. Western River Expedition really needs to get built and DCA really needs some Disneyesque attractions. WRE fits DCA's theming perfectly!

On another subject, who here has ridden TZToT at DCA? I would like to read your reviews!

I think it's the opposite.
Screamscape is reporting that WRE is coming to DCA.
Jim Hill is saying it's not but hinted it may come to DLP.
That's alot of acronyms for one post.
Just build the thing!
DCA, DLP, WDW, TDL...just build it!

Yeah, I read the Screamscape article after I posted. In any case, it's the best new rumor I've heard in a long time! I really hope there is truth to it. If they build it ANYWHERE, and it is successful, you can bet they they will build it at WDW soon after!

Let's hope so. I've read so much about this "unbuilt legend" I feel like I've been on it. I'd like to see it built already.
If they do build it in DLP they are playing with the idea that the outdoor flume part of the ride at the finale will be adjustable for the winter months.
They can turn down the splash effect or do away with the water all together.
I understand it's still a 50/50 chance they will build it.
It started as a SplashMountain alternative for France to keep with the Frontierland themeing.

Here's some info on WRE:http://home.cfl.rr.com/omniluxe/wre.htm

As far as where it would go, the Screamscape article mention tearting out the Jellyfish, the wildmouse coaster and even the Zephers.
I would think the parkinglot (Timmon?) would be another possibility.

Yeah, I don't know about this rumor. It's definitely getting lots of conflicting reports in favor of or against WRE even being considered. Where would they put that attraction anyway? I agree that it is the best rumor to come down the pike in a while.

As much as I'd love for this to happen, at this point I think it's just wishful thinking. Although there is plenty of room if they rip up Timon.

DLP? DSP and DLP are smack-dab next to each other. Plus the hotel is right there. I don't think it'd fit. Keep in mind that resort is in no fiancial situations to add a huge and expensive attraction.

DCA sounds about right... build it in Timon. Keep Paradise Pier open for the guests, then once WRE is open. figure out what to do with that section of the park. I could see it going in there (we all know that park needs quality rides and attractions). However, I don't know about where the entrance will be... it would be like having so many E-Tickets on one side of the park.

Look at Disney-MGM, they have RnRRC and TTToT and Fantasmic! right next to each other. So, having so many E-tickets right next to each other isn't uncommon.

I could see Disney buying up all the local land around it over time to help expand. Because sooner or later, those lots will be for sale.

It make take 50 years but I am sure Disney will snatch up the land.

But this is what happens when you build a small cheap park with no expansion room.

I don't think we will ever see DLR go past 3 parks. The price of land to build a fourth park would be pretty expensive. Not to mention all of the complaints from the people who live around the resort (this is what killed Westcot).
Maybe other cities in California (Long Beach?), but I can't see DLR going beyond 3 parks. Perhaps more hotels and parking structures.

Actually that's not a bad idea. I would love to see Paradise Pier replaced with something that is more California themed. It would be cool if they converted that section into an old Gold Country themed area. Then they could put the WRE in the lagoon as you suggested and they could convert Screamin' to a runaway mine train. I realize they already have that with BTMRR, but an attraction like that would fit perfectly in the California theme.
