Would you live in WDW?

I was thinking about the new Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg movie "The Terminal" (loosely based on a true story) about a man who is trapped in an airport terminal for the rest of his life. And I got to thinking...What if you had to spend the rest of your life living at WDW. Could you do it? What if you could go anywhere you wanted on WDW property, stay in any hotel, take up "residence" in any attraction, eat anywhere on property for free any time you wanted? But here's the catch... You could never leave. You'd have to agree to spend the rest of your life there. You also couldn't have any personal possessions, so while you would have free access to checking out the coolest Disney collectibles and souvenirs, you could never actually own any of them. Also, your family could come and go as they please, but they couldn't actually "live" with you and you could never leave. Would you do it? Where would you live on property? Or would you move around constantly? How would you spend your days and nights?

Not only could I do it.... But would at the drop of a hat (unfortunetely, not too many hats dropping around here). Free food and a VIP suite at the GF every day? Find me a nice local that would stay with me and even get married at the pavilion. Never have to worry about bills, cooking, cleaning, etc...

Days spent wandering the parks, or picking up golf as a hobby. Nights spent at the parks, or catching movies and shows at DTD. Cirque, Virgin Megastore...

I know what I will be dreaming about tonight, thanks Merlin

Oh, that's just way too many contingencies for me! I'll just stick to my own little fanatsy of living the castle with my own rules!

I would do it right now. My wife and I have debated back and forth on this long before this post. We told ourselves that if we were to win the lottery we would spend 1 year in the VIP Suite in GF and live off the resort. But like the old Ron and Ron (95 WYNF back in the 80's) said, "IF IT'S FREE, IT'S FOR ME!!!"

Yep, I would. I would hit the suites at the Resorts every night.
Good food, good times, I'm there.

If I could live in WDW and never leave... I would stay at the Magic Kingdom. I would take up residency in the tunnels.. The only worry is sleep, since it is a 24 hour workplace. And of course you know I have the monorail to sneak me to Epcot!!!! The food backstage is relatively cheap, and all the Powerade I can drink!

Sounds like the Tower of Terror :lookaroun It sounds nice, but I need my family and a couple personal possessions. And I'm sure the novelty would wear off after a while :(

It sounds like a great idea but then think about it. You would have to stay at WDW and never leave? I truly love WDW but also would want to explore other places around the world. I wouldn't want to ruin the Magic and take it for granted.:veryconfu

Not me. I wouldn't do it. Aside from my family being more important to me than Disney, I would say a good portion of the Magic for me is the anticipation of going. The planning, the saving, the countdown till we go. All that is a big part of Disney for me. Just so much of what makes Disney so cool for me would be lost if I was there all the time. Don't get me wrong. When I'm there, I don't want to leave and when I'm not there, I always wish I was. But without the wife and kids, forget it. And taking away all that goes on before we go, forget it. I can only imagine, like anything, to much of a good thing will eventually get old... Great question Merlin.:)

I wouldn't do it if i had the choice, purely because I'd miss my family and i want visit other parts of the world, eg. Universal Orlando! This is the obvious answer ofc. however, if i was forced to live somewhere for the rest of my life, I'd choose the world!

I've often thought about this..but not with all the restrictions etc. I would love to be able to live in the World...but not without my husband. Like others....I'll keep my fantasy of living in Cindy's castle. I've also fantasized about moving to Celebration...which is close enough that I could go to WDW anytime I wanted, but still a real community.

You ever see the movie, "The Legend of 1900"?

Good flick, the title character (1900) was born on an Ocean Liner and never leaves. He tries one time but can't bring himself to do it. Great soundtrack to if you like piano.

As far as WDW for life, sounds great, but not for me.

I think i would do it. It would be hard deciding on what to do each day though. WDW has all the ammentities that any other city has. I could live just about anywhere there except on the road. I would move from hotel to hotel each week, stay in a park every now and then and maybe find some new stuff that i have never explored at the WDW resort. I think that would be supercool. And the food there is great so im all for it
 :slurp: :D

I would do it if I could live with my family and have my possessions. I of course would go to school at Celebration since it is a Disney comunity.

Ok, I am trapped in a place in which there is plenty of food and plenty of fun and I don't have to go to work every again. Is that right?

I don't know that's a tuffy:rolleyes:

I couldn't do it. I don't want the magic to wear off. Plus no family would get lonely. I would need a few possessions as well.

I can see the downside of never being able to leave, but at the same time, would you NEED to leave? You've got plenty of shelter, would never have to work for someone else again unlimited food and basically my whole family (Except my wife and I) live close to WDW already so I'd see them all the time. Yes, I'd do it without blinking an eye.
