Would ya'll like CBJ more if it was updated?

My hubby got to see this for the first time in his life last year and loved it. I wouldn't mind updates, but as long as they don't destroy the goodness that is the Country Bear Jamboree. (Again, please Disney don't pull a JII, SGE, or M:S on us)

Ive always enjoyed the attraction and cringe when theres calls for closing it down. I'd also hate to see it updated with a change of songs but I welcome a seasonal Christmas special.

If they'd had done anything I'm sure at least any of the songs from the Film could have been put in there...

Maybe the addition of Johnny Depp to POTC (which I think was ham-fisted and overblown to the point where it diminished the attraction) has made me gun-shy, but I'm wary of "updates" in general.

I'd love to see CBJ's audio/sound portion cleaned up and improved, and candidly, a couple more minutes of the original (before it was shortened) show put back. Other than that, no "update" is necessary. People who already love it (I'm thinking of you, unknown lady who sat beside me last time I went to CBJ and joyfully spoke or sang every last word of the show's dialogue and music, "clapped your hands and stomped your feet" like it was your job, laughed at every joke until tears glistened in your eyes, and so won me over with your unabashed love of the attraction that I couldn't even be annoyed with you) will keep coming back to it. Those who are unimpressed by it won't be any less so if it sees updating.

I hear ya, and the movie for CBJ was not insanely popular like Pirates. It was more like Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion............forgettable. So there doesn't need to be anything in there because it wouldn't improve its charm. As for Pirates, we are on the 5th movie for that, it was a full blown success and a hugely successful franchise. There would be a lot of people that figure the ride is based on the movie, not the other way around so Disney HAD to do something with it. Jack Sparrow was just too popular and too unique not to. I think what they did was about as medium as they could do. That way it keeps people who expect Sparrow happy and the ones who remember it prior to the ride still have more or less the same scenes.

I'm in the very very small minority ... But when I was a little kid I watched the country bears movie on repeat over and over and over again!! I loved it. Okay. Back into the closet I go.

I think the guests who call for CoP, CBJ, TikiBirds, IASW and other "classic" WDW attractions to be replaced, just can't appreciate that attractions like these are what separated Disney from all the other parks. This is why I am so disappointed in the continued move away from AA based attractions. The AA's are what made them fascinating to me.

Now, it's nothing but demand for 2 minute thrill rides, and the heck with these attractions the entire family can enjoy. To thee I say...Cedar Point and Six Flags await you. Leave my classic WDW alone.

I'm from Knoxville so PLEASE don't put Rocky Top in there because TRUST ME I hear that enough! LOL! Honestly, I've thought Rocky Top should be in there. I've actually always wondered if the Blood on the Ground song is meant to represent the "murder ballads" that used to be major songs in Appalachian Culture. I asked a CM about that once and they had no idea what I was even talking about. I like the show as it is though. It has a certain charm to it and an almost "tongue in cheeky" type vibe the way the Jungle Cruise does.

Every time I hear "Rocky Top" I think of my Girl Scout days.. Father/Daughter Square Dance.
They played that song every year. Lol

Now I always feel like I need to lock arms and spin with the person next to me ;)

Actually, Disney has been doing a good balance of animatronic rides and thrills. A balance between AAs and projections as well. Frozen Ever After, 7 Dwarves Mine Train, the River Journey... I'm sure this won't hold true for Star Wars Land. But at least it isn't the extent of Universal. And at least Disney DOESN'T get rid of their classics. If anything, they just improve them.

Some of us love amusement parks and WDW. I'm a Platinum passholder at Cedar Fair and Disney World currently.

I love Disney because it is different. I don't need thrill rides there..,and I'm a huge fan of the classic attractions.
I love Cedar Fair because of the rides.

never seen the Holiday Version. but I love the original version.. its too bad that they cut the songs back.. which I wonder is why more people stopped going.. I also think that if the Diamond Horse shoe review was active it would help the bears as well..
