The title says it all. Would you guys like The Country Bear Jamboree better if the show was updated/upgraded?? It's my personal favorite... And looking up youtube videos... I think the Vacation Hoedown and the Christmas Special were far superior to the original show! To be completely honest... I think it fits what an animatronic show today could accomplish well. A well done parody show of country songs.

Big Al cracks me up!

Me living in South Carolina... I could not stop laughing at the "Thank God I'm a Country Bear" spin off song!! :hilarious:

I would love to see the show brought back to its original glory. Summer and Holiday shows would be wonderful. Even a new seasonal show done in good taste would be welcome. That's not going to happen either.

Basically anything over the abbreviated current version would be step back up.

Long live Grizzly Hall.
There's always a LITTLE hope! Tokyo Disneyland, I believe, runs all three versions of the show on a seasonal basis!

My honest feeling is that management doesn't want huge numbers for the bears.
And I understand your honest feeling... But hey.. We were never expecting Disney to bring back the original Tiki Room either, were we? We just need to set a small fire, and then their attention should immediately draw over there for an upgrade! ....Hopefully. Instead of vacant space forever..

Bears is one of the attractions I just don't get and think is a dud and I'd be happy to have seen if replaced with another attraction a long time ago. Unfortunately the building isn't really sized well for much.

If I had seen the show in its current state for the first time and didn't know any different I'm not sure I'd be a huge fan.

It's too hurried and missing a few minutes and when did Gomer become a beatnik?

How about no more art school misfits screwing with classic attractions. That isn't what their trust fund was set up for.

As long as they continue to perform "Mama dont wup little Buford, Buhlud on the Saddle, and Rocky Top" Im good with changes.
Is rocky top in the original version? I thought it was just the vacation hoedown. Correct me if I'm wrong. Or is it a totally different song?

Nope. You are correct. Why I thiught Rocky top i have no clue.
Rocky Top would be a good addition to the original show though! Maybe to replace the Devilish Mary song that Disney seemed unfit.... I don't know why they got rid of that but left the shooting the child song in instead.. But hey! Biggest laugh in the whole show. I'm okay with it.

I'm from Knoxville so PLEASE don't put Rocky Top in there because TRUST ME I hear that enough! LOL! Honestly, I've thought Rocky Top should be in there. I've actually always wondered if the Blood on the Ground song is meant to represent the "murder ballads" that used to be major songs in Appalachian Culture. I asked a CM about that once and they had no idea what I was even talking about. I like the show as it is though. It has a certain charm to it and an almost "tongue in cheeky" type vibe the way the Jungle Cruise does.

I love it. Always have, always will. The fact that it hasn't changed is what makes it so endearing. It is a throwback. This is what is part of Disney. Walt always had one foot in the future and one steeped in the past dripping with nostalgia. The Bears are the latter, and you need that with some attractions.

While I'm not a fan of the attraction, I totally agree with you!

Tex Ritter - Blood On The Saddle lyrics
There was blood on the saddle and blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground

A cowboy lay in it all covered with gore
And he never will ride any broncos no more

Oh, pity the cowboy, all bloody and red
For the bronco fell on him and bashed in his head

There was blood on the saddle and blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground

The song originally was from his album...

Ive always enjoyed the attraction and cringe when theres calls for closing it down. I'd also hate to see it updated with a change of songs but I welcome a seasonal Christmas special.
