Worth the Risk?

Sooooo... We all know now that they released the free dining promotion for Sept. 2nd - 25th. The thing is, my wife and I want to go in October, not September! So here is the question: Should I risk the extra money ($350) and get a moderate resort (instead of a value resort) in hopes that they extend the offer? In years past I believe they extended the offer, so maybe they'll do it again? What is your opinion on this?

I am a gambling man and I would risk it. Plus I love staying at French Quarter Port Orleans!

YES! POFQ is the best one i have personally stayed at so far. And i too am a gamblin man. But $350 will buy a lot of Dole Whips and beer. Lol plus we could always stay at a value resort and just pay the difference to upgrade from QS to regular dining. Which im sure would be less than $350

I was stay keep the reservations for oct. Im sure you will get a good room discount if free dining isnt offered. I did see where someone hinted the chances were good for it in Oct. Besides look at how crowded it will be in sept. everyone is canceling their trips for oct and such for sept. The parks will be packed im sure.

I wouldn't risk it. While they might extend it, I don't think it looks good based on the fact that they have the Food & Wine Festival going, so they aren't exactly hurting for bodies. September is the weakest because most families have children going back to school, so Disney has to try to lure some of its American fanbase back to WDW.

Just a heads up, Disney is emailing out PIN codes for FD after September. It's random and NOT a general public thing, but it seems to be wide spread. Seems that there is hope for the Fall after all...

so wht happens if they do extend it or offer some sort of promotion in October and you already have a reservation and are making payments on it? can you get that promo applied to your existing reservation? if so, how?
