anybody know of any other stupid theme parks?

GILROY, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- One month after its opening weekend, Bonfante Gardens announced the opening of five new rides; the "Artichoke Dip," "Family Balloon Flight," "Banana Split," and "Strawberry Sundae, "and the "Panoramic Wheel." These rides follow the historic and
agricultural theme of the Santa Clara Valley that's showcased throughout the park.

Families with children can sit inside giant artichokes and gently spin around while overlooking the park's lake in the "Artichoke Dip." Each ride is approximately two and a half minutes long.

The "Family Balloon Flight" resembles the hot-air balloons that can be spotted floating over the Gilroy area in the early morning. Each balloon carries four riders in simulated wicker baskets, floating 800 riders per hour in an elliptical flight pattern.

Visible from the Entry Plaza, a giant banana can be seen swinging high into the air. The "Banana Split" is more of a thriller than its name may suggest; therefore, an adult must accompany kids under 48 inches.

The "Strawberry Sundae," features enormous suspended strawberries. Riders sit inside the giant strawberries as they spin. Splits 'n' Sundaes, a concession stand serving splits, sundaes, and other ice-cream treats, is located near the entrance.

The "Panoramic Wheel" ride offers a birds-eye view of the park from gondola-style seats that accommodate up to four park visitors. Located next to Monarch Garden, a tropical greenhouse nearly 60 feet tall, the "Panoramic Wheel" clears the top of the greenhouse for breathtaking views.

Additional rides and attractions are scheduled to open this month, as Bonfante Gardens continues to grow. For more information on the rides and attractions, visit http://www.bonfantegardens.com.

Bonfante Gardens is open daily beginning at 10:00 a.m. Admission is $28.95 for adults ages 13-64, $25.95 for seniors ages 65 and over, $19.95 for children ages 3-12, and free for children age 2 and younger when accompanied by a paying adult.

The park, dedicated to preserving the history and agricultural heritage of Santa Clara County, is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit community charity. Proceeds generated by Bonfante Gardens will be reinvested in local communities through horticultural and beautification projects.
