I'd say removing the Fountain of Nations was a COLOSSAL mistake.
If they had maintained it I'd agree. However, it's condition in recent years has amounted to a garden hose propped up by a coke can. My bet is that you will probably still go to Epcot even without it, so it really wasn't worth maintaining. They have a far more spectacular Fountain show, if not uglier in the daytime, in the Taco lagoon.

I've been to Epcot 3 times since the Fountain of Nations was removed.

Yes, I agree that it was very poorly maintained in the last few years of its life. Half of the water jets were nonfunctional by the time it disappeared behind construction walls.
