EPCOT World Showcase Shops Reopening Watch

One of the last major areas waiting to return to normal seems to be the shops at World Showcase. This could possibly change once CPs start. Here’s a list of what is still closed.

I will chime in here real quick and say that Morocco's shops and marketplace have been open post pandemic re-opening, but with the loss of sponsorship of the pavilion, certain shops there closed up. WDI has been working on the area - I saw in a recent update that a good portion of the pavilion is blocked off by a temporary shrubbery wall. Hopefully all of that will be done by summer. And hopefully the rest of the shops will re-open for summer, too.

A lot of these closures were prompted by the capacity limitations the parks have been operating under since July. Many shops couldn’t survive on those low numbers, just like they didn’t need all the restaurant capacity when operating at 35%. As they ramp those numbers up and the parks fill, the economics of reopening lots of those venues will improve so they can justify being reopened.

It looks like a lot of CPs have been assigned to world showcase merchandise. I’d expect most of these locations to reopen next week once training is done.
