Hi. In going to California in 2 weeks and I am visiting both Disneyland and California Adventure in 1 day. I know it will be hard to get eveyrthing in but we are going on a Thursday so we should be fine. But I was wondering whether I should see World of Color or the fireworks. I'm leaning towards world of color because you can always see fireworks at any Disney park. Thanks for the input.

World of Color, exactly for the reason you said. It's truly amazing. It's possible to do both in one day (I've done it, so assuming the timing of the shows is still the same) I'd try to catch them both...but WoC is my pick.

I would say World of Color if you've never seen it. Plus as great of a show Remember...Dreams Come True still is it's nearly 7 years old and fireworks have come a long ways in 7 years(Magical and Believe both show great new effects and tech)

What you can do is watch the first World of Color at 8pm, and once it's done walk toward Midway Mania! and watch the fireworks from there.

No music(other than the Paradise Pier BGM) but you get a great view(Paradise Bay and the Little Mermaid building) hardly any people, no mass exit with the crowds out of DCA. You can even hop on Midway Mania! after the fireworks are done. I'm pretty sure Midway Mania! stays open during WOC plus the park closes at 9. Then you can hop back over to DL if you wanted to stay till midnight.

Are you traveling alone? If yes, I am pretty sure a Thursday will give you the possibility to see both World of Color and Remember: Dreams Come True in one whole night. Here's what I would do:

Go early in the morning, before Disney California Adventure opens. Get in line to obtain Blue Fast Passes for 8:00pm the show. There is the blue bridge view that is very nice for the entire show and all of its effects. Then exit quickly as you can, cross the Esplanade and get into Disneyland Park. Every spot in Main Street USA is a awesome view for the fireworks. The show starts at 8:40pm, so you will have 10 minutes to move from the World of Color bride area to Main Street USA.

Another possibility is like said above, watch World of Color and move to Toy's Story Mania to watch the fireworks from there. If you still want to do one other thing before leaving the parks I can suggest exiting Disney California Adventure after fireworks and walk through It's a Small World facade to watch The Magic, The Memories and You! at 9:30pm and finally go over to Fantasmic! at Critter Country for the 10:00pm show.
Hope this helps. Have a wonderful time at Disneyland!

I'm surprised that no one has touched on this, but the fact that you say you're going on a Thursday may answer your question before it was even asked. I don't know that it's true for all seasons, but Remember is usually not presented on Thursdays (someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the past 5 times out here, it has only taken place on the weekends).
World of Color, on the other hand, is presented every night.

Nevertheless, my vote would certainly be for World of Color as well. Disneyland's fireworks are much lower altitude than those at WDW. And while they are indeed great, World of Color is not to be missed, for sure!

Have a great trip!

^Very true, but spring break starts basically this weekend. :) Remember and Fantasmic! are about to go daily and a few weeks later ElecTRONica.
