Seriously, I don't understand this. It costs them next to nothing to run the show. A little labor for crowd control, but no entertainment labor like the 50+ cast of Fantasmic or pyro costs of Fireworks. I am really bummed about it not running during our trip the third weekend of September.

The show won't go dark after Labor Day. Apparently Disney Dining has been telling people that the show won't be playing after the summer but that is not true. I'm not sure why they're saying that, Disney has already said that it's a year-round show. Al Lutz talked about this rumor yesterday in his update -

Editor's Note 7/24: As summer rolls along, World of Color's popularity is growing by the week, DCA dinner sales are huge despite the weak economy, and Fastpasses are selling out earlier each day. With all that good news, Team Disney Anaheim is getting very close to entirely banishing the 6PM weekday closing times in the off-season that DCA has had for the past decade. Later this week TDA should give the final blessing to year-round 8PM weekday closing times in the off-season, beginning this September, with at least one World of Color show performed daily on weekdays at 8:15PM. The weekend hours at DCA this fall will offer at least a 10PM closing with multiple shows per night. In the meantime, TDA really needs to get the reservation agents at the 781-DINE line to stop telling callers that World of Color gets shut down completely after Labor Day and goes "seasonal", as nothing could be further from the truth. There's got to be a better way to phrase that. - Al Lutz

Thank Jebus. We were at DCA the day before Labor Day last year, and they were begging people to come in for the Ariel dinner. The place was empty.

Wow, I've been thinking of heading out that way for a trip, and at least I know I can get dinner reservations.

It probably has to do with the fact that a majority of DL and DCA visitors are passholders who probably go home for dinner.

“World of Color” has been extremely popular with our guests this summer, and we are happy to report that the show will continue nightly throughout the year. After Labor Day, Disney California Adventure park will remain open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the nightly performance. Dining packages will be available. There may be some days during the year when the show will be dark, so please check Disneyland.com for more show and dining information.

Also, the DL online calendar has been updated with the new extended park hours and WoC shows through the end of the year.
