Working at Disney

I have loved Disney as long as I can remember, and I have known for a long time that I want to work there. That's why I'm trying to get into the College Program next spring, and hopefully go back full time after I graduate. My question is this, does working at Disney ruin the magic? When you're working as a CM and you go in to a park on a day off as a regular guest, is anything lacking since you know how it all works, or anything like that.

Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, it can, but NO it doesn't have to. It's like buyer beware. Know what you are getting going in. My bro went and everybody was VERY negative. It became trendy, and he was ready to leave when it was over. WEEKS later, he was kicking himself for not taking on a second season. He is now graduated and looking to sign up again before his eligibility is over. So just make sure you stay in control.

The Magic has never been ruined for me. I may be weird, but somehow, seeing all of the hard work that goes into making the parks the way they are just makes it all the more Magical for me. However, be warned- it is QUITE fashionable to moan and complain about everything Disney, from the pay to the housing to the job to the rides and the actual Disney experience . It gets old fast...which is why I usually just go to the parks by myself  Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of friends (Who wouldn't want to be friends with Taryn!? ;)) but sometimes I like to just get away from them and actually enjoy the Magic. Good luck with getting in the Program, and if you do, don't let yourself get drawn in with the complainers. It's so much more fun when you don't convince yourself to hate it!
