One thing about kids , they just don't think about the consequences. Sorry for the scare, it is frightening. It's nice to know some parents care enough to report his own child. Kudo's to the father!
I have teenagers and they think they know everything! But they really don't understand life yet, and certainly don't think things through!

what it comes down to is that there are people trying to scam the general public and you took it the way I would of! Good for you!! That stuff is scary and those kids needed to learn a lesson..

They had an older sister--also a former student of mine--make the call. Here's the funny part: these are Honors students. They had the insight to change the outgoing message on the voice mail to reflect "this is so-and-so from the Walt Disney Company" but didn't count on me using Caller ID to my advantage. (For the record, I only picked up the call because the number was almost exact to another cell phone number I know.)

Not surprising. The underground student newspaper at my high school (loaded with suspension-worthy "articles" about the faculty and staff) was authored by Honors students. :lookaroun

Just goes to show you that brains (honor students) and common sense do not alwyas co-exist. Something about being a teen and making good judgement calls is sometimes crosswired.

What the kids did was not a bright thng to do, 5 days suspension is too harsh. I would rather see alternative punishment in addition to paying for new numbers etc... Something like research paper, community service, etc...
