WL Villas?

Everyone,
My family and I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge 5 times now, and absolutely love it. We are going back to WDW this May and more than likely will go back to the Lodge. However, I noticed that it is actually cheaper to get a Studio Villa room at the Lodge for our time frame through a rental service. We have never stayed at the Villas. My question is, who has stayed in a Villa studio? How did you like it? Does it have the same ambiance as the Lodge? Is it suitable for two small (5 yrs and 2yrs) children? Thanks all.

It's a similar ambiance. There is only one sink in the area outside the bathroom (instead of 2, as with a standard room), but you'll have a kitchenette with another sink, plus a microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, etc. The second "bed" will be a fold-out sofa instead of a bed. (I asked about these particular sofa beds in a thread a couple of months ago since we'll be staying in a WLV in May, and other WLV guests assured me that the fold-out sofas are quite comfortable.) As a villa guest, you'll have access to the "Sturdy Branches" health club on the ground floor of the villas, in addition to the quiet pool and all of other Wilderness Lodge areas and amenities. (*The only major difference between a studio villa and a standard room, besides the kitchenette, will be housekeeping: if you're staying in a DVC villa on points, rented or otherwise, you get trash and towel service on day 4 of your stay. There will be no daily cleaning unless you request it and pay extra.)

It's as suitable as a room. It pretty much is just a room. We had a small sofa and a stocked fridge and that was really the only difference. It's a bit of a short exta walk from the main building, but it is covered during the outdoor part.
