Can anyone tell me what the slide is like at the Wilderness Lodge pool? We love the slide at the Poly and YC - is the WL one just as fun? Thanks.

well...I recentley started a thread...about what slide is the best...THEY ALL mentioned POLY and the one at YC...but few had good things to say about the ones at WL and AK...from what I have accumulated...its a mild small slide...nothing much compared to those at the POLY and YC...

Hope this helps...

Pool hopping (going to another resort's pool) is not allowed.

There are signs at every resort pool stating that the pool is for the use of resort guests only. CMs at the pool may ask for your room key. The number at the bottom of the key designates your hotel, so they do know where you "live".

You can do a search for pool hopping and you will find some discussions that remain barely civil.

There are some people who routinely pool hop and see no harm in it. The majority of folks here frown on the practice.

A long time ago, pool hopping was allowed, especially in the 70's when Ft. Wilderness didn't have a pool--they used the pool at the Contemporary.

It has only been within the past few years that WDW has cracked down on pool hopping, mostly due to overcrowded conditions in the pools. My guess is that the extreme attractiveness of the Yacht/Beach Club pool, and now the Polynesian pool have added to the overcrowding problem.

Sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted to hear.

I started a POOL HOPPING thread once...and it was not pretty...

but a good point was said...

Deluxe is held to a higher standed...better rooms...amenties...and pool.... if you wanna hang with the big dogs....you gotta be a big dog...at least in disney...( or you can put up a fake it every 2 years like we do)

although it was said that....

If you are at an AS...its fine to pool hop inside of the three resorts...since all are paying the same price...and in the same area( I disagree...but thats what I had heard) If u like that pool...pay to stay at that resort...don't ruin it for the actual guests

The WL is a deluxe resort...but is one of the cheeper...same with AK...both have great pools and a tame slide....

sry didn't mean to get side tracked....

We stayed at the WL two years ago. The pool slide is nothing to speak of. However, one area of the pool is made to look like a Pacific Northwest-type waterfall in a rock formation, and a lot of the kids (and some adults) seemed to have a blast playing in that area.

Well its really cool at night because the mist comming off the top and the setting and the lights gives it a cool efect. And even though you are not supposed to, at 3 am me and a friend kept going down the slide even thougth the rope was up. We had to pretty much throw ourselves down the slide cause there was no water flowing down the tube.

The slide is just a slide. Kids like any slides but comapred to YC, BC there is no comparison. As for pool hoping. I f you are a DVC member you can pool hop at certain resorts and certain times of the year. Unfortunately BC is not one of the places any longer due to increase of guest there with opening of villas:hammer:

Are you kidding me??! This is the easiest time to be pool hopping. Try a pool out!! Crowds are way down (i mean they are closing entire resorts down at times) and they have bare minimal CMs. Uusally its a task to get into the YC pool, especially during easter and christmas time (but WAY doable), but now with the cutbacks they only have lifeguards. This past christmas break was the easiest to get in the pool.

I'm not starting a debate, just telling what happened. Sorry guys, and YS.

The pool and waterslide leave something to be desired for a deluxe hotel. Compared to others, it just doesn't have it. On the other hand, it's pretty cool as far as a visual. Enjoy the hotel's other features and try a water park.

Really?---I didnt know pool hopping was against the rules. I know last sat. My friend and i always go pin trading around the hotels all day. and it was raining last sat. and w were wet, so we decided to go in the pool at WL--then we got addicted. We did WL,POLY,GF,AS,OKW,BW,CB,Y&B,and CS----that was a fun day

Yes...I guess if there were no crowds...like now..I would hit the pools....we were at the pool all day everyday one vacation...not once were we asked for passes....although by the second day we knew the LGs on a first name basis...but still...

I think you can get away with it...if
A-don't make it obvious...don't Take a boat from MGM to the Y&BC and go straight to the pool...whip out your towel from your bag...and make it obvious your not a hotel guest...
B- Don't draw attention to yourself
C- Act like the rich and famous...like the people who can afford to stay there...  ...jk

surfsupdon is right...the best time to hit the pools is now...

I dont think they enforce the pool hopping rule anymore--They are supposed to check your room key on the bus, boats resort monorals, and everything, and they no longer do that
