Now that is cool. I loved those old movies as a child.
But it would have been even cooler if they returned in their original roles, like as parents of the next generation of children with powers!
I would love to have seen the "Tabitha Stephens"-type plot device (from "Bewitched") -- where the parents (here at first separately) discover that their kids have the same powers that they have (and most likely have been keeping at bay until some current event makes them first rediscover their powers and second, of course, come back together), ultimately leading to be a kid-driven climactic family ending with everyone.
That would be good.

Two of the child stars of the original Witch Mountain movies have signed to appear in the remake.
Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann will star in new film Race to Witch Mountain, Disney's re-imagining of 1975 adventure Escape to Witch Mountain.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Everett Scott, Chris Marquette, Billy Brown and Cheech Marin have also joined Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Ciaran Hinds and Carla Gugino in the cast.
The film focuses on two orphans (Alexander Ludwig, AnnSophia Robb) with paranormal abilities who, with help from a Las Vegas taxi driver (Johnson), are on the run from a sinister group (led by Hinds) looking to exploit their powers.
In a reference to the original movie, Eisenmann plays a sheriff and Richards a waitress at a roadhouse called Ray's in a town named Stony Creek.
Scott, Marquette and Brown work for Hinds's character, while Marin plays a helpful mechanic.
The film is currently in production with Andy Fickman at the helm.
