Wishes party table rumor?

DW, who spends her productive time on another site, recently mentioned a discussion about the possible removal of the tables from the party area. Does anyone have some knowledgable insight into this?

Personally, I can't see that happening with young families and the nature of the party. But stranger things have happened. And she tells me some people were adamant that this was going to happen (of course it got ugly too - it alwats does, doesn't it?).

Thoughts?

I wonder if it's to meet demand. I will tell you, we have been trying to get in here since they started doing this and we've never been able to get in. I am trying one more time this year and I am giving up.

Yeah, that was my only thought. No tables mean they could increase capacity ($). But not sure by how much. Seems like such a dumb idea though.

I agree, Keith, because then you would have people clamoring to get to the railing. We are a family of 3 adults (even though my son is 10) and I am not paying $26/head to race and elbow others to get prime spots. I can stand on Main Street with desserts from the bakery for just the cost of the desserts.

I think they need to tread carefully here.

Like so many others, I've been waiting for the September dates for the dessert party to open. I've been checking the Disney site every day to try to make my reservations, and reading the description on the official site, I'm curious if this answers the question about tables being removed. The Disney site describes the dessert party saying, "The viewing area for the Wishes Fireworks Show is standing-only within an outdoor, covered patio that is utilized rain or shine." I've never been there before, and that phrasing only caught my eye because of this thread, but should it say that if there are tables? Or does everyone just stand when the fireworks start anyway?

It has always been worded that way
