Wishes Dessert Party @ MK

Hi All! I've been lurking around Disney's dining reservation site, just curious to see when they'd release the dates for the Wishes Dessert Party...well, I was able to secure a reservation for Nov. 6th at 7 p.m. (with Wishes slated to start at 8 p.m. & the park closing right afterward). My question to all you fine folks who have done this event: is it worth it & could you tell me a bit about your experience?

I remember when Disney started this event, and my husband and I thought it would be a nice treat to add to our "Disney bucket list." We have 6 adults and 3 children (7, 6, & 3) in our party, but I'm not sure how the kids will do. I've read, thus far: arrive 5 min. early (because any earlier will be a waste of my time); that food tends to run out closer to the start of Wishes; and that exiting the park will be a mad dash, especially when the park closes right after the fireworks end:eek: .

I did see an "8 p.m." slot available on Nov. 3rd, with Wishes to start at 9 p.m., but the park closes at 10 p.m. that night. Should I attempt to snag that time instead of keeping my 11/6 date?

Please, your thoughts and suggestion will no doubt be invaluable info!:D

The view and relaxing feeling of not being in the crowd is well worth it never mind the desserts. I have done this twice the food has never run out they just keep filling it up. As for the mad dash out of the park just hold back and take your time leaving the shops stay open long after the official close time so just sit back and wait a bit as everyone leaves. The buses run one hour after the park closing time

Thanks for the reassurance! I am excited for this event!

I have only done it once but I definitely recommend it. Not having to wait in a crowd of people pushing and shoving you is so worth doing the dessert party. And the desserts are really good and the cast members are good about refilling the trays when they get low on desserts.
