WISHES come true

Good Morning Everybody!,

Well on the heels of a very busy day at the Walt Disney World Resort I wanted to write today and give my review of the newest nighttime spectacular at the Magic Kingdom, Wishes.

Having worked on two of Walt Disney World's nighttime offerings, (RoE and Fantasmic!) I was wondering what level this show would be at. What kind of pyrotechnics would be used? How would the music tie into the show? What would be the theme that was weaved throughout the show? How would the audience react?

Well all of my questions weere answered last night. OrlPassHolder's report was dead on. I just thought I would add a couple of my cents.. :)

First off, This show has Eric Tucker's finger prints all over it. Those of you who know his work from RoE and other events here at WDW can second those comments. The shells he uses in this show are his signature. What everyone will notice is that there is a large VARIETY of different effects during the 12 minute presentation. Traditional air bursts with NOT SO traditional airbursts are combined to make it a feast for the eyes. The colors, strobes, and sounds that some of these pieces make are perfect and fall right into the theming of that particular section of the show..

When you see the show...I think the "Evil" section shows this concept off best..

The shooting stars effect in this show is a constant theme througout the show and is played out beautifully.

The audio for this show is second to none. Disney spent a lot of time creating the pre show announcements and the whole theming with Jimminy Cricket. What is interesting to note is now Jiminy Cricket is now your "Host" for your entire evening of nighttime fun at the MK. With both SpectroMagic and Wishes being hosted by the little green guy...Which is kind of cool I think.

Finale...well let's just say this Finale is BRIGHT, LOUD, and provides that "kiss goodnight" that Disney loves to do...

Technically, the new firing locations tied in with the Time Code Firing system..(Most likely SureFire or PyroDigital)...makes this show very in sync with the soundtrack and allows for a lot more pyro choreography than the last show at MK which was fired with called cues.

Well..

Epcot has RoE
MGM has Fantasmic!

and now...Finally...the park that started it all in Florida has a show that is on par with the others...

its called WISHES...and you will agree when you see this, that Disney has realized the importance of the FINALE of the day yet again...and noone will be left dissappointed. Its a true winner..

Have a great day!

It's neither. The show is fired on FireOne.

Epcot has Illuminations every night
MGM has Fantasmic every night
Will WISHES be seen every night? (weather permitting of course)

Fantasy in the Sky wasn't shown every night and sometimes ONLY on Saturday night.

If not, then I don't see it as part of the regular park experience (equal to Fantasmic or Illuminations) but only as a "specialty" experience since not everyone gets a weekend stay off season or goes during the "high" season.

Wishes is designed to be shown more often than FITS. Will it show every night? No. Will most guests have the chance to see it on weeknights in value season? Yes. Wishes is meant to become a part of the Magic Kingdom's offerings.
