So I'm in this contest at work.... It's a 2 month contest, and it's over on 6/30.. One of the prizes is a trip to The World, airfare, meals, tickets, etc. As the main Disney fan in my family, and at work, I'm SO PUMPED I might actually win. Anyone ever experience this? Any tips for planning?

Can't say I've ever won a Disney trip (a free trip to Hawaii, yes) but wish I would. Thought I too had a good chance during that "show your disney side" sweepstakes a little while back, but no. It's probably not worth planning it all out and getting your hopes up unless you know you've won. How many people are trying for that trip like you are?

The winner must be in the top 15 of the group. The contest runs till 6/30 and as of yesterday I was in 1st place.

My grandmother won an all expenses paid trip to WDW through a Coca Cola contest when I was 10. (1981 or early 1982 - can't remember exactly, but EPCOT wasn't open yet.) Trip for 4. Accommodations at the Poly. All meals included. They gave us vouchers that we could use at a combination of table service & quick service places. One day for lunch, we ate at the Top of the World on top of the Contemporary. Every time I eat in Cali Grill now, I think of that lunch. They also would have paid for airfare, but we lived in Jacksonville, FL, so flying would have been silly. I had an awesome time. It was the first time I ever stayed on property.

I won a Limited Time Magic contest to tour Cinderella's Castle and Be Our Guest. One week out I had to ask my supervisor, "Um. I realize I just got back from WDW recently but I won a contest to tour Cinderella's Castle and Be Our Guest THIS Friday. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY would like to go. NO ONE gets to tour the castle." Of course, he said yes. I put myself up at the Best Western in LBV.

Good luck to you!
Wish my company gave away free trips! We get flashlights...and coozies.

I can't wait to hear an update!!! I, too, wonder about people who have actually won these kinds of contests. I remember the green, green jealousy that bubbled inside of me when I didn't win the Haunt your Disney Side contest that allowed guests to party in the Haunted Mansion and spend a night in the castle!

My sister won the Disneyland Dream Job contest in 2007. She got to take 3 people with her to DL for 4 days. I was one of them. We got a bunch of extra perks along with the free trip and my sister performed in the then High School Musical Pep Rally.

Good luck and hope you continue holding onto 1st place.
Over the years I've entered contest after contest after contest... as many as I'm aware of being run.

I've had my hopes up and wishing on a star of being chosen grand prize winner but never got near to winning the trips. When the YOAMD contests were in place however, I did win several Mickey YOAMD hats, and lanyards with pins. Still waiting for that day I'm notified of an all expense paid trip.

Be careful on "winning" a contest. Many contests are travel companies looking to offset expenses. They "donate" a trip somewhere at an insane price (usually 5-10x more than you could book yourself). They get to write off the amount on taxes, but you must pay the taxes. They give away a "dream" vacation valued at $15,000. You pay Fed and any other taxes on $15,000. Say the tax rate is 30%. You pay $4,500 in taxes. Then, you look online to book the exact trip yourself and it is only $2,000. That is how the business world works.

Having income is a good thing so if he said, "no", that would have been the end of the discussion. Fortunately, I live in Florida and the drive is only four hours away. The only awkward thing about it is that I just returned from a week's vacation in late September-early October 2013 and I wanted to return two weeks later for this contest.
