Wine and dine option?

Has anyone added this to their dining plan before and did you enjoy it? Was it a good value? I can't find any opinions on this.

My husband & I did the wine and dine in 2007 when we went. We loved it. I plan on adding the wine again. Your choices of wine are up to a value of $40 I believe.

We didn't do it because we figured it we could just buy our own alcohol when we wanted it (say, every OTHER meal or something) and pay a ton less. But it's cool because you're only paying the difference between the two meal options if you go during free dining, right?
