Will Turner and Eliziabeth in POTC ride?

I keep hearing that they're going to add Will Turner and Elizibeth animatronics somewhere in the POTC ride. I personally like the new add-ons they have now but think anything more will be overdoing it. Especially with characters like Will and Elizibeth. They're not nearly as popular as Jack or memorable as Davy Jones, so why waste time adding them?
Mind you, the only place I keep hearing about this is on Youtube so it might not be true. People also seem to be convinced that Disney wants to put Eddie Murphy in the HM despite the movie not being so popular. :hammer:

Nope...nobody in the company wants Eddie M. in the Mansion. Forget that.

As for Will and Liz....not sure.
Apparently some in the company (park ops and film) are talking about it...my guys at WDI say no.

Will and Elizabeth are pretty main characters, as long as they do as good a job as they did with Jack I think it would be a nice addition. They kept the integrity of the ride pretty solid with Jack and didnt make any drastic changes. I thought I saw a thread on here saying that they were going to be added sometime in line with the third movie? I could be wrong though.

They wouldn't put Eddie in, don't worry. They aren't stupid enough to butcher a rather popular attraction by infiltrating it with a rather unpopular movie.

As far as Will and Elizabeth joining the crew, only time will tell. I wouldn't be against it, but I wouldn't really be dissapointed if it never happened.

ditto. I don't care what the old farts say, the imagineers did a fantastic job adding the new characters while keeping the old ride intact and i'm sure they'd do it again with Will and Eliz. but just the same, I still think it'd be a bit too much and that I wouldn't be hurt if it never happened.

I keep hearing that it will happen. Personally, while I don't really want to see Elizabeth and Will in the ride, I'd be glad to see it happen because if it does (and the rumors I hear are good) then we'd also get the upgraded lighting and sound system as well that we should have gotten this last time.

I think it would be cool if they put Will in a sword fight somewhere in the ride. No idea where to put Elizabeth.

Slightly off topic, I rode PoTC yesterday and it seemed as if the battle was beefed up slightly. There seemed to be more fog, the cannons seemed to shoot more smoke, and when we were turning to the well scene I felt a strong blast of air shoot right across my chest. Now this wasn't a draft, this felt like an air cannon. This was the first time I felt that, has that been in there or recently added?

Yes, they did beef up the battle scene. There is better smoke and lighting. Some of the water cannons blast higher now, some wooden debree is now floating in the water, and the cannons now shoot of a powerful blast of air. :)

As for adding Will and Elizabeth, I'd be more than happy to see them. They would probably be in one scene, but I think it would be cool to see them! :)

Actually, it's Elizabeth who should do the sword fighting. :)

I think she'd be perfect for bringing the sword-fighting animatronic tech from DLP to WDW. I really enjoy it, but the movements seemed just a bit feminine to me in their Pirates ride, and I think it would be even more convincing with a female character.

I'm all for the continued plussing of Pirates, and hope it does go on. I know some people bellyache about it being Walt's baby and all, but if anything I think he'd be PO'd that it remained so stagnant for many decades when newer technology was available to plus the original concept and story.

Well in that case I'll have to agree with you.

Orlando Bloom's acting is perfect for Audio-Animatronic form, stiff and life-less.

Just had to say it.

My favorite review ever, from the Times' review of "Elizabethtown": "Mr. Bloom, in contrast, cute as he is, is all blank stares and shy smiles...It's hard to tell, and harder to care, as Mr. Bloom distinguishes himself, in this performance as in most of his others, by his steadfast reluctance to explore his range as an actor."

Back to topic: add the characters, it will make the ride even more fun. The girls have Depp and Bloom to look at, the guys have Keira and the Redhead.

It wouldn't be worth the time and effort. POTC has a surge of popularity now. There's no need to add more. That can come later (if ever). Plus, there are several attractions (JC, SSE, and HM all come to mind) that could use some new effects (not movie related) for that budget. Plus, POTC just went down. It doesn't need another significant downtime this soon.
