Will the disney app tell of park closures?

We will be traveling to WDW arriving on new years eve. We are planning on going to Epcot first for the afternoon and then will hopefully be able to hop over to MK. I have heard around these busy holidays that the parks can close for periods of time due to reaching capacity. I was wondering if the disney app some how can tell me if a park is closed or what level closure it is at? So if we are Epcot and want to go to MK we can check before we leave Epcot.

I'm just wondering if we are at one park and want to go to another how we could find out the status of the other park. Would the CM likely know what is going on at other parks?

You don't say whether you will be staying at a Disney Resort hotel or not, or what type of ticket you will be entering the parks with.
Day guest ticket holders (those using the car parks) will be turned away first. Disney Resort guests will get into a park until it reaches capacity - then nobody gets in.
If you are hoping to hop from EPCOT to MK you're best bet is to ask at guest relations regarding MK's capacity. If you're hell bent on visiting MK on NYE I'd go there and forget all about EPCOT

I'd hop on this forum if you can get an internet connection. Doesn't Steve usually have a post with the times of phased closures for the day?

Gosh I can't imagine being in a park when it reaches capacity. Worst nightmare. I'm not big on crowds anyway. Even the after parade/fireworks crowd is suffocating to me.
Haha, me too. As I'm fighting to either stay in one spot or get through a crowd in MK or World Showcase, I am often muttering to myself "I'm never coming here again." But I always do.

We are staying on property so i know that does help our chances of getting in to the parks vs just a day visitor.
Since you are staying on property, the only kind of closure that would keep you out is a Phase 4 closure. Phase 4 closures have only occurred a handful of times in WDW's 43 year history so I would worry too much.

I report them all on the front page of www.wdwmagic.com if that helps.
