VAN NUYS — The CEO of Van Nuys-based MGA Entertainment Inc., manufacturer of Bratz dolls and Little Tikes toys, made a nearly $900 million bid today to purchase Toys R Us stores in the United States and Canada.

“The time is now. Everyday that goes by, the value of Toys R Us declines and more people lose their jobs,” Isaac Larian said. “I did my part and now it’s up to the other side to accept this offer. If they do, the real work will begin. We will make Toys R Us an experience in and of itself — a fun and engaging place where families can spend an entire day. Imagine a mini- Disneyland in each neighborhood.”<<

Issac might be right, who needs attractions, just staff smiling CM's (oops, I meant clerks) and have lots of cash registers. Add some upcharges for cutting the check-out line, tours, etc., and over priced snack bar, and a current/future Disneyland experience will be in your neighborhood.

The main reason for this is because Mr. Larian sold his first toy line to Toys R Us.

I had heard his plan was to convert them into more of a toy museum/FAO Schwartz type model where kids can come in and play instead of just a standard retail job.

Very interesting to see how this shakes out.

"Spend an entire day."
The current best, most interactive toy stores on Earth are the Lego Stores, and even a mega-sized Lego Store couldn't keep a family on-site for more than an hour.

Well yeah... because there weren't any Bratz dolls around!

There is something legitimately wrong with whoever designs and approves the Bratz line of toys. Here are some products from the "Babyz" line.
