Wilderness Lodge vs. AK Lodge

Question for those who have been fortunate enough to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom Lodge...

I've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge twice in the past and absolutely love it! It's definitely my favorite WDW resort.

However, I have not been to WDW since the Animal Kingdom Lodge opened, but I am planning a trip for February 2003 and can't decide between the two resorts.

Any thoughts, ideas, etc. on comparing the two resorts???

I've stayed at both resorts.

I love the Wilderness Lodge. It is defenatly my favorite resort at WDW. AKL is also really cool.

For me, it all depends on what you like. If you have kids, I recomend the AKL. I wne t with my cousins (7 and 10). They loved the animals there. If you also like to try new food stay at AKL. The food is pretty good and nothing like I've ever had. I also love the atompshere at the WL. The pool is the best there. You atre also a boat ride away to the TTC, where you can get just about anywhere.

At the very least, whichever resort yuou don't stay, get proity seating reservations one of the resturants there. That way, you still see the resort that you are not staying at.

Kosherkid...thanks for your response. I plan to eat at Artist Point (WL) and Jiko (AKL) either way. And, I don't have kids. So, I think I'll probably stick with the WL.

I'm curious to see if they were able to capture the magic/romance/charm of the WL at the AKL? That's really what the decision comes down to, because I already know that those things are found at the WL.

I have stayed at both resorts as well and to me Animal Kingdom Lodge wins hands down. The rooms are much bigger and the theme is carried out well. Even though I love eating at the Wilderness Lodge :slurp: , I even prefer Boma to any other restaurants.

My suggestion...try the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You will probably be a convert too!
