Wilderness Lodge Villas

Hi Everyone

We rented points last week for 4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. It was somewhat of a spur of the moment thing. We've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge before, loved it, but never at a DVC resort.

Anyway, I'm a big resort person. The resort experience is about as important to me as the parks. I'm just wondering now if it really feels like you're part of the WL or if you feel pretty separated being in the villas. Does that make sense? (We're not pool people so that's not an issue, I just mean mainly spending time in the Lodge and outside.)

Anyway, any experiences with this are great, I was just curious what the general "feel" is.

Thanks!

We've never stayed at WL, but we have stayed at the Beach Club and the Beach Club Villas. The Villas are literally a 2 minute walk from the main lobby. The building itself feels very much like a regular resort. The elevators are the same, the hallways are the same, the decor is the same. The only difference is the rooms are a whole lot better! I'm like you, the resort experience can make or break my vacation. I absolutely love staying in a hotel. The villas are like Disney resorts taken to the next level, but you have the Disney resorts within an arm's reach whenever you want them.

Enjoy your trip!! :sohappy:

I can answer this!!!!!!! We just got back last week from staying in both a studio and a one bedroom (see trip report if you want.)

We had friends who stayed in WL, and I have to tell you I wasn't impressed. Their service wasn't as good (could of just been timing) They had to wait 45 min for the luggage to show up at thier room, we only waited 5. Their room wasn't all that clean or nice, ours was beatuiful. Infact they said there was ants in their room (but didn't complain, I think they should of.) Also they had a wait for the elevator all the time (when you have strollers the stairs is not an easy option.) Ours was always there, no wait ever.

One warning. The villas are this long strech that goes on in one directions. If you get a room near the end of the hall way it is a long walk (we had the last room on the 3rd floor, I mean the very last.) Man I wanted to run down the cooridor, it was as long as a football feild. And there was only one elevator, you had to walk over the mini lobby, then back around to the room. That was poor planning, BCV is better that way. Request a room with not much of a walk.

The walkway to the villas is covered, or if you walk around the pool it is not. It is closer to the beach, boat and bike rental. The pool called whipering springs is very nice, it has bubble in it.

You feel like part of the Lodge, but better, much better. The Villas are closer to the busses, a bit of walk to the boat and a walk to roaring forks for drink refills.

Over all we still like BCV the best. (nothing compaires to SAB.) However VWL is a close second and it agreat resort. Enjoy yourself.

One word of warning, once doing a DVC resort, you won't want to go back. You will be looking to join! We are so glad we did.
