The WL is our favorite hotel at WDW! It is usually pretty quiet except in the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

The rooms are the smallest of the deluxe category, but we have no problems with it (there are 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids 20 & 14) and we have been staying there since it opened.

If you get an MK view (a woods view, I believe) you may be able to see the castle and fireworks; I know we did years ago, but the trees have grown (and some were topped by hurricanes). A good place to try would be rooms ending with 022-032 with the higher floors giving you the best bet (we like room 6032, right near an elevator, yet still quiet). You can see the Electrical Water Pageant from the overlook at the back of the lodge (overlooking the pool), but a better bet is to head out to the dock or beach (though it will be quite loud).

We love all of the restaurants there. The Roarin' Forks Snack Bar offers some good daily specials for each meal and has a nice assortment of ready made foods, but there is little sitting space. Most people head out to the patio to eat. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of our favorite places to eat and the all you care to eat breakfast skillet is a must for us. Artist Point is a nice quiet restaurant for a "finer" meal and is considered a Signature Restaurant so business casual (or Disney's version of it anyway) is the dress code.

WL is our favorite resort. We love the northwest lodge theme and the boat transportation to MK & CR. The boats sometimes may not be the fastest way to get to MK, but it can be fun/relaxing. It's been a long time since we have had a woods view room facing the MK, but at one time you could see fireworks over the tops of the trees. I haven't had a room that you could see the electrical water pageant, but I would think that a courtyard room toward the lagoon on an upper floor you could see it from your balcony. The food in Roaring Forks is decent food court type food, but seating is limited. You can also sit outside, but watch out for the birds. They are very brave and will come right up and steal food if you walk away to get something. We have had good food at Whispering Canyon, but nothing to rave about. We go more for the fun than the food.

thanks:D we were thinking of staying at CBR but theres really not that much difference in price for us being passholders so when they have the discount it worth the few extra dollars, so I guess this is where we will be staying if its as good as everyone says it to be. the noise of the WCC i dont think will bother us too much we live on a noisy road now so ive learned to block it out.besides we are traveling with myself my dh and 3 kids 17,3 and 6 months. and i think the larger rooms wil be worth it weve always stayed at a value resort in the past when the kids were with us and it was cramped, now we will have another infant where we will need the space. do you think the rooms are large enough for 2 playpins?

The noise from the WCC is really only bothersome if you are sitting right outside of it. There really isn't enough room to move if you have to set up 2 portacribs, but you can do it if you need to (only at night and be careful if you have to go to the BR :lookaroun ). Will your 3 y/o stay in a regular bed? Or maybe a better question is is your 17y/o willing to share a queen size bed?
Maybe you should see about the bunk bed option.

Concierge level? That's the 7th floor and I've never been up there....yet.
You can get bed rails if needed and that may keep the little one in.
And I'm sure you have already though of this BUT do not keep the chairs on the balcony near the wall.

We had breakfast one morning after we were the flag family and it was fruit, muffins, pastries, bagels & cereal.

we were upgraded to club level for our honeymoon earlier this year, they had breakfast cereals, danishes, fruit and drinks in the morning, cookies at another time, a wine a cheese hour in the evening. they also at certain times during the day had soup and casserole type dishes avaliable.
