My wife and I will be spending 4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time in Feb. We have stayed at P.O.R. and C.B. but this is our first time at a deluxe resort. Is there ayone out there that can give us an idea of fun things to at W.L.? Any tips or suggestions on things to look for or ask for? Anyone else going to be there in Feb.? :)

I didn't actually stay at the WL, but spent some time there. We rented bikes and rode around the trails. Took a water mouse out and toured the lakes -- that was nice. Got to see a different perspective of a lot of the sights.

I wanted to try the parasailing, but my travel partner was a chicken. (Next time I'm traveling with a human being -- easier to make dinner reservations too. :animwink: ) But, I'm going to definitely try it on the next trip.

I haven't stayed there but I have visited the hotel. If you are looking for a nice restaurant then Artist Pointe is one of the better ones on the WDW property (in my opinion). Especially if you like salmon.

Also, there is a nightly Electric Water Pageant (at least there used to be) that stops right by the Wilderness Lodge (down by the geyser).

I stayed Dec 2000. It is a beautiful resort.

Stay for at least one eruption of the geyser.

Take the boat back from the Magic Kindgom in the evening. It is very relaxing after a long day.

I believe you can also watch the water parade from the beach, but check with the front desk when you get there.

Go down the waterslide. : ) Even if you are a "big kid", it is still a lot of fun.

Have a wonderful time!

We have rented the bikes there also...great trails. You can ride them to FW and Typhoon Lagoon. We stopped to visit the stables along the way. Was a nice ride also, passed alot of people doing the same thing. Also, the Whispering Canyon Cafe is great for dinner...make sure to ask for ketchup :animwink: . Have a great time, the resort is just great....reminds me of a giant lincoln log building .

Guaranteed to get you in the mood.........

Boy do those bring back memories. I have an original set of LL still in the original canister. Remember when they were made of all wood, even the green roof boards? These are great! Thanks for the link...can you get them at the WL also. Just curious...thanks

Although I am not sure , I am confident that they will be at the WL gift shop (why wouldn't they be??), and Once Upon a Toy.

But you have been warned--you need to make room in your luggage--that can looks big.

The cost is $30 per half hour. They leave out from Ft. Wilderness. (you can take the boat over from Wilderness Lodge) You can fit 4 adults max. in a carriage.
