Wilderness Lodge Question

Hi Everyone!

I have a PS reseration for the Hoop De Doo Revue in early December
and really want to see the Lobby of the Wilderness Lodge before the show, and maybe have a cocktail. How far away is the wilderness lodge to the
ft. wilderness campground? Can we walk from WL, how long does it take? Is there a place to get a drink? How long do you think it will take. We are staying at GF, but will probally take the ferry from MK to WL. I know....I know.....
I'm babbling. I hope someone on the forum can help me.

Thanks so much........

I'm pretty sure that it would take a while to walk from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness. Your best bet would be to take the ferry from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness. It won't take any longer than 5 minutes. You'll probably have to wait a few minutes for the ferry though. Make sure you get to see the Wilderness Lodge, it is truly breathtaking. Be careful, you may want to stay there next time!

I just pulled my old map from my last stay and it's about 1 1/2 miles from the WL to the Hoop-Dee-Doo. It's a very nice trail if your in the mood to walk, but if it's cold or your feet hurt, you might want to take to boat. There is a launch at the WL and one at the campground (very close to the Hoop-Dee-Doo). But be careful about which boat you get on. Some boats only go to the Contemporary... and the other boats go in a loop and include stops at the WL, the campground and the MK. It is possible that you may get on a boat and have to go to the MK and then to the campground. That would take a very long time... figure at least 30 minutes. My advise is to ask before you get on any boat... where is the next stop? When we stayed at the WL, there didn't seem to be any set pattern. Sometimes we would go directly to the MK, and sometimes we would stop at the campground first.
There is a lounge in the lobby and one at the pool... both are very nice. If you have time, go to the front desk and ask for the "Hidden Mickey Hunt". It's 15+- clues to hidden mickey's at the lodge. Hope this helps... and have a great trip!

Please take your time & look around the WL its beautiful. Take the ferry (the large boat, not the small one) to Fort Wilderness. It only takes a few minutes and its a very nice ride. Make sure the skipper is going to Ft Wilderness & not the MK...as was stated before it makes a loop. The walking trail is very nice, but I wouldn't do it later in the day or when its dark.

You can get a drink and an appitizer (if you want) at the Territory Lounge by Artiste Point...
