Has anyone ever had a problem with the MK transportation in Jan.? we are concerned with the boat ride being cold. Any thoughts would be great!!

It can be chilly that time of year, but just stay inside; with the doors closed it won't be bad at all. You'll likely be wearing a sweatshirt or light coat so you will be fine. We love to head to the WL in the winter. Not only do we get away from the snow back home, but its soo nice to sit in front of the huge fireplace and have a hot chocolate. :slurp:

We did WL this year for the 1st time (Jan 1 to 7th) It was really sunny and warm for most of the trip (low 80's just perfect). The last day a frount came in and it really chilled out. We were fine on the big boat to MK, the smaller ones to Con and FW would of been chilly.

There is busses tha run to MK or busses to TTC and them monorail to MK if you didn't want to take the boat.

WL is really nice and cozy in Jan. The hot chocolate is wonderful.

You lucked out! The January we were there it was in the 40's most of the time. One night it got down to 27 degrees.
The wind chill factor for the next day was worse than home (but at least it wasn't snowing :D ).

We did luck out. (in many ways.) The cold front made it eaiser to go home, but once we did winter really started here and didn't stop until last week (boy is it nice out today!) Jan and Dec can be hit or miss at WDW, but we got lucky a few times.

Thanks for the info. We are trying to stay at Contemp. but if the AP rates don't come through we will stay at WL. I have stayed at Poly in Jan and it just didn't seem right. Call me wierd. Not a big hot choco fan but I am a java junkie!! WL reminds me of winter ski vacations at Mohawnk Mountain House in upstate NY. We also love Yellowstone and friends of ours have said how cozy it is. I have stayed there before but it was years ago.

I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you stay. Isn't Mohonk House great? Its only about an hour from me. Just watch out for the cliffs.

Nice to hear they have good hot chocolate! I'll look forward to that on cool evenings in December.:slurp:

Make sure you get a big rocker in front of the fireplace!

One of the things I love the most about the WL is how everyone uses the lobby. People snack, play games, read, but it never seems too crowded or noisy. (the noise comes from the Whispering Canyon  ). I've even seen people sleeping on the sofas...nobody bothers them.
