We love the Wilderness Lodge so much that it is the only place that we'll stay:D The boat ride to the MK doesn't take long and is very convenient. I can't say about the buses because we usually take the car everywhere else. If you try the Whispering Canyon try their milkshakes they are :slurp:

I stayed at the WL my firts trip to WDW. When my parents said we were staying there I was not happy because I had never heard of it and wanted to stay at the Contemperary (because that was the only hotel I had ever heard of). When we go to WL I absolutly loved it. The lobby is so pretty esspically the fire place. My advice is stay at WL you wont regret it!:)

WL is great, i'll be there tommorow night. Artist Point is by far one of the best restaurants in the park IF salmon is in season, also the berry cobbler is great IF the berries are in season. Definatly go for this one if you're into Andirondack architecture, its so well done that even in the heat of summer it feels like you're in the Appalachian mountains and for some reason it just feels cooler

Dear Cymbaldiva,

Ever consider joining DVC? Then you won't have to worry about saving up to go to the Wilderness Lodge again. Instead you can use your pionts to stay at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge!!

Yeah but you have to pay a ton upfront, which is about the same as payng for a bunch of vacations.

:D Yes to you both! I have thought (briefly) about joining the DVC, but yes, it does cost a BUNCH of $$$ up front! If I had that much $, I wouldn't have to worry about saving up to stay at WL!

Hi,
I'm leaving this week for the WL. I have two rooms booked with a woodland view.

I have requested connectin rooms and bunk beds.

Any suggestions on where in the Lodge I should ask for my room to be located?

Thanks,
moe

If possible, get a room on the west side. That way it's just a quick trip down the elevator to refill your mugs. Have a good time.

We just stayed at the Wilderness Lodge from 5/26 -6/2. It was incredible. As soon as you walk into the lobby, it just takes your breath away. We loved the animals carved at the top of each totem pole. They actually have a tour of the Lodge most mornings at 9AM (they meet in the lobby). We had a spectacular room on the 4th floor facing Bay Lake. In fact, our room was right across from the hidden Mickey on the 4th floor (there's a hidden Mickey on each floor of the hotel - you can get a Hidden Mickey hunt sheet at the front desk). The $9.99 refillable mug pays for itself and is definitely worth it. We ate at the WCC and it was hysterical. There was a guy who just graduated college, and the waiters made him lead the children around on wooden horses. This poor guy was so embarrased, but it was all in good fun! While we stayed there, we saw two couples on separate days get married at the Lodge - what a beautiful place to exchange vows!

The only complaint we had was the trnasportation. If you take the buses and you want to be at a particular park, plan on leaving a half hour to get there. Sometimes we had to go to Fort Wilderness to pick up people. One time, we waited 25 minutes for the EPCOT bus. The driver knew he was late and went straight to EPCOT without picking up the Fort Wilderness folks (meanwhile there were only about 10 of us on the bus!). The MK boat shuttle was prompt and had us there in no time.

I am a newbie here. So I must say I love the forum. I have checked it out since Dec. and finally decided to post.
So HELLO TO ALL.

Well I am staying at the Wl for the first time in Sept. The last 4 times I have stayed at All Stars. This time I met the girl of my dreams and want to have a wonderful Romantic time. I am going to propose to her this summer as well.

But I always go in Sept and I am especially looking forward too it. Especially since my Girlfriend and I love the Peter Pan ride.

We were deciding to stay here or Old Key West and decided WL, since we will be so close to our favorite park and ride.

So thanks for letting me join you all.
