Wilderness Lodge & Fort Wilderness Questions

We are staying at WL for the first time on 1/06! We are very excited, but I have a couple questions.
1. Can you walk from WL to Trails End at Fort Wilderness? If so, is it very long?

2. Is the petting zoo gone from Fort Wilderness?

3. Can you get a microwave in your room at WL?

4. Is the boat to Contempo and then monorail to TTC the best way to get to Epcot or do you recomend the bus?

1. Yes, it's about a 15 minute walk or so, I don't like the walk at night.
2. :shrug: my kids are older now so I haven't looked.
3. Either way is good, but we like the boat to the monorail. Sometimes when it's busy the bus seems to take forever.

Hope you have a great time, the WL is our favorite hotel. Make sure to have a skillet breakfast for me. :wave:

The petting zoo is still there, at least it was the last time I was there. Have a nice trip.

1. Can you walk from WL to Trails End at Fort Wilderness? If so, is it very long? Yes you can, as Tiggermom stated it is a short 15 minute walk.

2. Is the petting zoo gone from Fort Wilderness? The petting farm, pony rides and horse barn are still there entertaining our Guests of all ages!

3. Can you get a microwave in your room at WL? This is not an option at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort, but you could book a Studio, 1 or 2 Bedroom Villa at the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. These rooms come with a microwave as a standard room amenity. The Villas are adjacent to the Lodge and share all resort amenities.

4. Is the boat to Contempo and then monorail to TTC the best way to get to Epcot or do you recomend the bus? The best and fastest way to reach Epcot from Disney's Wilderness Lodge is to take the direct Motorcoach at the front of the hotel. The method you described would require you to wait in three different ques increasing your total travel time considiably.

I just came back from the Wilderness Lodge and loved it! It's funny you ask about getting to Epcot as that was the one down side to the trip. We went to the bus depot to wait for the bus to Epcot. We waited for over 20 minutes and saw 1 bus to Animal Kingdom, 2 buses to Magic Kingdom, 2 buses to Fort Wilderness, and 3 buses to Hollywood Studios arrive. When the 3rd bus to the Studios showed up we hopped on that and then walked over to Epcot. Yes, I know that took longer than waiting for the bus, but by that point I had had it with waiting. The only people standing waiting for a bus by that point were going to Epcot or Animal Kingdom. It was crazy. This was at 10:20am in the morning too. It was like they had forgotten all about us. :shrug:

We just got back from an amazing time at WL.
1. I would just take the boat from WL to Trails End.

2. Petting zoo is still there.

3. No but there is a Micro at Roaring Forks.

4. You can do the boat but it will go to Ft. Wilderness first.
don't forget about taking a cab to TTC only about $4.

We got a great deal on a car so we had that but did take the bus back from Trails End only took about 3 min and took a ride from Epcot to MK then back to Epcot on our last day.
