Wild Africa Trek...your thoughts :)

I'm considering booking the Wild Africa Trek for my 13 y/o granddaughter and I for our spring break trip mid March. We're regular disney goers and like to look for something different to do from time to time. For those of you who have done it...would you do it again? Anything about it you particularly liked or didn't like? Did you think it was worth the cost?

Do it!! Was a great experience, guides were very knowledgeable, so unique to be able to hike the backstage trails of the Safari reserve. We did it in June, it was extremely hot, but in mid March it'd be awesome!

Did it twice and would do it again. As Disney values go, this is probably one of them.
Likes:
Small group with lots of one-on-one time with knowledgeable CMs
You get a TON of photo downloads when the experience is complete
Cool WAT water bottle to take home
Exclusive conservation pin to take home.
An excellent lunch on the safari with POG juice.
Dislikes:
None for us!

With all this said, I still think the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour is the better experience, IMO, but my DW and DD would probably disagree with me. Im not trying to dissuade you from the WAT, its fantastic, I just don't believe many folks realize you can swim in EPCOT's tank which in itself is pretty darn amazing!

I gave a Wild Africa Trek tour to my husband a few years ago for Christmas. (I didn't do this with him as I have an extreme fear of heights & I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to make it across the rope bridge over the crocodile pit.). My husband loved it! He did the tour in February. The weather wasn't great that day; rainy, but it wasn't particularly cool. Lots of animals out & about. My husband got good pictures of his own, but the photo download was definitely a plus. He would like to do the tour again.

I've done it twice with my son. Both were amazing! I recommend booking the first tour of the day [no AP discount, but there's a reason they discount the afternoon tours, too HOT!]. Our first tour was the better of the two, only because the lions were very feisty while we were at the breakfast stop. Prowling and the male was roaring a lot!

Oh I hadn't thought about the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour...hhhmmmm. It is for my 50th bday and my granddaughter is old enough...now I have some decision making to do lol.
