I agree I think it's better that it's not in the parks ..Why need it when you want to escape from the real world. Your better off in the Resort hotel.

The only thing that free WiFi would do in the parks is cut down on guests data usage through their cell carriers. A large percentage of WDW guests are now sporting smart phones and accessing online data like WDWMagic.Mobile, Disney Parks Mobile Magic and Lines. As tablets become more popular I would expect to see more of them also.

I personally would not mind a WiFi connection because I sometimes need to do some work while at the parks, but I will use data if WiFi is not available. I am just happy that WiFi is now available throughout the resorts and I do not have to sit in my room with my laptop plugged in. :)

That all needs to be modified to read "American" guests. Non-Americans pay way too high roaming rates to be using data and one of the apps you mentioned is available only in the US store. We non-Americans could really use wifi everywhere though I'd be surprised if they can get if to work. Lots of technical problems.

Do you have a Canada/US plan available. I think Verizon is $20 per month extra for Nationwide + Canada.

I agree that WiFi being available everywhere would be better for international travelers, but right now I am happy with the upgrades that have happened since October.

No
I have a US/Canada data plan with Rogers, but as far as I can tell they no longer offer it. There are add-ons that can be purchased to reduce data charges, but they're not cheap.

Yeah, and I use it. But it's far from unlimited and like the other plans up here, it only reduces the per megabyte cost from about $6 per mb to $1 per mb and costs about $20 -$30 per month. They just changed it again so not quite sure what the actual cost per month is. Still the cost is such that you can't use data in the US the way Americans can.

I agree. I'm not by any means one of these iPhone zombies walking around blind to the world and stepping off curbs into oncoming traffic, but I do like to make practical use of my iPhone when I can. And I see the parks as a great place to have access for reasons you mention (WDWMagic.Mobile, Disney Parks Mobile Magic and Lines). If it's not available now I would like to see this added in the near future. And if not park-wide perhaps having small wifi hubs scattered around here and there where guests can step in and have access for a brief moment to accomplish a task before moving on.

I can not afford Data in the US, sure they say buy a US SIM.... too much work.

What Disney could do is charge $5 a day to access WiFi, since it is my only source of Data in the States I pay it.
