Does anyone have an idea for something special for me to do for my wifes birthday. We are going in August. We always do the cruise and i have another one booked for her bday, but i would like to do something else special. We did Victoria and Alberts last year. Any Ideas??? Thanks in advance!!!

Depends what she likes. A few possibilities come to mind...

1. Backstage tour -- Backstage Magic, diving at the Seas, lots of choices.
2. Spa package -- massage, facial, hair, etc.
3. Upgrade to a concierge room or suite at your resort
4. Don't forget floral arrangements that can be ordered from the WDW florist to your resort. I understand they'll do all kinds of custom things for the right payment.

Besides the spa ( which is awesome ), and a special dinner at Victoria and Alberts.. you have the opportunity depending which resort you stay at to send your wife a really great room ammenity for when she gets in the room.

This could be a cinderella slipper dessert,
a box of truffles with a silk screen castle on the plate,
a special birthday cake,
a white chocolate mickey statute with chocolate covered strawberries.

These can be ordered from the poly, grand floridian, contemporary, any of the more expensive resorts really.

With every resort however if you call the front desk and say you have a birthday they will put balloons and a card in the room for your wife.

If you are planning on dinner, take her somewhere different on property that she has never been. Call ahead to the Disney Florist to make sure there is an arrangement there for her, and call the restaurant ahead to make sure they have a special dessert prepared.

Need more ideas? let me know!! I have some pictures from the grand floridian bakery of the room ammenities from when i was there.

I do not think this is true. I know they totally ignored my DH's birthday when it was mentioned to them. On my birthday trip, I got balloons, a "Gold" key card (I turned 50), wine, wine glasses and chocolates. And I've also read several posts where nothing was done for birthdays but buttons.
I believe it is hit or miss with what the resorts will do.

How about a romantic dinner on one of the boat tours they have. I was watching one of the WDW specials on tv and one of the couples on the show were celebrating their anniversary and they were on a boat at night sipping champagne and watching the firewoks. I assume you can rent it all to yourselves. Order her some flowers for your room to be there when she walks in. Or a personalized cake for her Birthday from the Disney Bakery. These are just a few of the things I have seen. I am sure there is a lot more to choose from. Have a wonderful time and I am sure what ever you choose she will love it. I just wish my husband was as romantic and thoughtful as you.

Hard to top V&A's. You set yourself a high standard last year. Maybe a trip to Disneyland Paris?
