Spring Break!
What he/she said! The busy Spring Break season has officially begun as of this week! Most of the Florida schools started Spring Break last Friday, so there's a lot of locals.

It's going to be continuously crowded until Easter, then the crowds gradually decrease then pick up again during Star Wars weekends.

Most of us where we live and other areas of the country around the midwest and northeast are sick of this blasted winter. :bawling::mad::bawling::mad: A trip to WDW is looking more inviting than years past during this time, hence the increase in attendance. Also throw in the fact there is a new parade, a new Fantasyland many have not seen yet, and a new mine train around the corner. Florida will be a magnet for crowds this season.

I thought I avoided all the crowds last year by going a few weeks after Easter, but watch out! New England has some sort of in-service week or something where all their schools are out for several days and it was about 2 weeks after Easter, crowds were not horrid but not ideal either.

It's actually Spring vacation that you're referring to. For many schools, it's either the 3rd or 4th week of April.

My parents live in S. Florida and their entire area is on spring break this week. I am guessing a chunk of FL is on break this week...so in addition to other parts of the country...you're getting a lot of FL residents on spring break.

A friend of mine is down there today and complaining on FB about the crowd level. Park hours have been extended tonight and tomorrow, but she's not having a good time at all. :( I'll be surprised if she sticks around the parks after dinner. But that's Spring Break for ya.

And since several million families in the North have had their school years extended by the God Awful Winter this year, they are using Spring break to go to the South instead of waiting on the later Summer break to go to WDW and other warmer climate recreation areas. Those that are waiting to go until Summer are going to be 1-2 weeks later than normal this year because of added "Snow days".

We had fast passes for the Jungle Cruise at 2:00. It took us just over a half an hour to get on the ride. When we got off of the ride the line to get into the fast pass lane was all the way up the hill and swinging back to the Magic Carpets.
The lines for people using the fast pass kiosks has got to be WAY over an hour.

Here in Massachusetts most schools get two weeks of vacation after Christmas: one in February and one in April. Sometimes the April week lines up with Easter (like it appears to this year), but sometimes it doesn't. All depends on when Easter falls.

That's why it's nice that here in Texas our Spring Break seems to be before the rest of the country...we can avoid crowds at places like WDW!
Nope I'm from Texas and I thought our early spring break would make it less crowded, but no such luck my daughter band arrived on 3/8 and it was bad.

I believe it's because...Now now..hear me out..I think it's when these younger people get off for some certain reason...I think it's some kind of a break or something....It happens around that time when that Snow covered stuff starts melting and everyone escapes to certain destinations for some relief of everyday stuff....I think it's called... Super Day of doing stuff but, doing it for a week.....Yeahhhh...

This week is the big week of central Florida schools spring break. Other counties around the state were the past two weeks...of course everyone else around the country have spring breaks too...and with the rough winter many had to deal with, the idea of escaping to sunny Florida struck many as a great idea.

It's busy everywhere in Florida right now.

It is the busiest I have ever witnessed, yes. Having said that, we got Fast passes for HM, Splash and Space Mountain. We rode everything yesterday besides Big Thunder Mt, which we could have, but opted to do Splash twice and we didn't even get to the park til 1 pm! Manage your fast passes and use the app to check wait times. We even ate at Pecos Bill at 6pm and got a table right away. Sure it's busy there, but I did more at MK than ever! Too many complaints here!

The MagicBands have been great too!

I live in north Alabama and most of the schools up here are on Spring break right now.
The hordes from Indiana will descend on points South this weekend. Many school systems in Indiana start Spring Break tomorrow at the end of the School day.
It'll be best if guests at WDW avoid the ones with the "Thousand Yard Stare" as they are somewhat deranged from battling the Winter this year.
