Why not get rid of Barnaby Owl from Splash Mountain?

The animatronic has not spoke and showed you your photo for more than a decade. He just moves around a bit with a candle and canvas next to him, why not just take him out if they’re never gonna use him again, it’s just an awkward ending that doesn’t work.

It actually spoke this past April when they accidentally re activated the voice track, and it took them a month or two to realize and shut it off.

Remember folks, show is one of the four keys!

I'm fine with it being there because it's an AA and even if the unnecessary photo viewing doesn't work anymore, doesn't mean it should be scrapped.

I rarely ride Splash Mountain because I don't like getting wet on rides or sitting in an uncomfortable plastic log that bumps turbulently and looks like a big loaf of bread, but whenever I do, it's like they haven't paid the light bill and I can't see anything. What I can see barely moves or doesn't move at all. I can understand complicated robotics failing, but why didn't that crude rabbit going back and forth on a track like something from a model railway not work forever? Does maintenance even go in there?

It's a charming little owl of an on ride element lost to the past. I think they should add more owls.

Last time I rode Splash (October) it was in the worst shape I have ever seen it in (aside from the one time I rode it with every AA in the attraction not moving). Does anyone know why it's so poorly maintained? I had always heard it was because the building was lacking current OSHA fall protection necessary for a lot of maintenance. Is that still true?
