If you ever watch Walt Disney Presents late at night on the Disney Channel (too late, if you ask me, it used to be on at 11, but now its on at like 2--I have to tape it) I've seen the TV opening celebration for EPCOT Center (as it was called when it opened). Do they ever play the TV openings for Disneyland or the 3 other WDW parks. I'e seen the EPCOT special on about 5 times, and never the others. (Actually, I saw California Adventure when it opened) But how I would love to see the opening of Disneyland w/ Walt and Ronald Reagan, and Art Linkletter. Anyone know why they don't show these, or if you can buy them anywhere?

You can buy a DVD Version of the grand opening of DisneyLand. It's on a collection called Walt Disney Treasures. It's got 4 different editions, the one you want is the Disneyland edition. They only made 150,000 and the are all numbered and come in tin collector's cans. The Disneyland edition features the grand opening of Disneyland, it also has a show called "The Disneyland Story", where Walt unveils the plans for the park. Next is "Disneyland After Dark". It's a show about Disneyland at night and it's got a lot of entertainment (Annette, Bobby Rydell) in it as well. Last is the Disneyland 10th Anniversary Special. It's an awesome 2 disc set and sells for about $30. Last time I checked you could order it over at disneystore.com.

I once saw the opening of Walt Disney World with Bob Hope and several others. He made a speech from the Contemporary, etc. I wish I'd known it was coming on. I certainly would have taped it.

The Walt Disney Treasures DVD is AWESOME! My girlfriend got it for me for my birthday!

The first episode is the original tv broadcast (it even has some parts where it fades a little bit...nothing too drastic though) and is hosted by art linkletter and ronald reagan. It also has FRANK SINATRA! (Well, just a cameo.) lol. IT IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULDNT BE MISSED. This dvd is amazing. I also think the best episode is the one about the 10th anniversary. It is in FULL COLOR and it shows the making of various rides (I wont tell you the rides unless you want to know..lol).

Anyway, as ive posted before I WANT THE OTHER ONES ON DVD! Maybe theyll do that on the next run of Treasures. Im just bummed because i cant find them on tv to tape them. What time does this disney show come on? what channel? im in school and they only have like 10 music channels! we get those, cnn, and the locals..oh yea..and showtime. no history, no tlc, just BS music channels that show the same 8 videos over and over and over and over and over again:hurl:

anyway, sorry for the rant there. Definatly go out and buy the WDTreasures DVD about DISNEYLAND U.S.A.
