I don't disagree with the warm and fuzzies of nostalgia. Walt wanted a place where families could go and spend a day together with their families. That no longer describes most visitors to WDW.
Those aren't families walking around the WDW parks and resorts? Wow, could have fooled me. Are they all rental kids? Or are the kids renting the adults? Made friends at the airports on the way in?
Sorry, but the vast majority of visitors to WDW are still families, and you've really lost me as to what you're thinking it is walking around and enjoying the parks together.
Going way back to the OP- what benefit would Disney get to put old, broken down, high maintenance rides at a place where no one has to pay for them? Spending loads of money and getting absolutely nothing in return? That makes absolutely no sense at all.
The sad truth is every attraction that is gone is gone for a reason. It may have been low ridership, outdated ride systems, high maintenance costs, high staffing costs for low throughput, or some combination of those. But that ride wasn't generating ridership and "income" for the park that they felt was worth the investment, so it was pulled and replaced.
So if Disney didn't feel that the ride was bringing in enough interest and income to make it worth spending the money to keep it in the park, why on earth would they put it somewhere they'd spend the money and get absolutely no return on it's investment at all.
I mean there are rides I miss, some I never got to experience that I wish I had, but there's nothing about this one that says it would have any reality to it at all. I may as well create them in Planet Coaster as that's a more realistic thing.
