I personaly love Tapestry of Nations, the dream recreation made it worse but I still like the parade. The music was so much better when there wasn't all that talking and the music intruments on the puppets don't make shaking their hands as magical. And the Sage of Time was so cool!!

Its not that I hate it...just that I think its too repetitive. Honestly, I like the music and puppets and stuff, I just wish they had it be a little shorter or have some different looking things in it.

I don't think anyone hates it, but I think they prefered ToN over it. I think that the theme was terrific for the millenium, but not for this celebration. They just recycled the parade and made it dream themed (which I don't think worked too well). I also don't like how they altered the soundtrack with the kids saying their dreams. I think it takes away from the great music they had.

The top 5 reasons I hate ToD! (why 5? Cause the WHITE MAN won't give me 10!.. sorry.. SNL reference)

5-Leonardo is SCARY
4-The new batch of puppeteers stink. They're just there for a paycheck and nothing more
3-It sent me on medical leave for almost 7 months, broke both my ankles, and gave me permanent back damage. All due to managements stupidity in sending the parade out in rain/wind conditions.
2-They cut out the best part of the music
1-It is a cheaply made (trust me on this... my house cost barely more than the money they spent on rehabbing the parade), lacks any real vision (that's what happens when they change show directors), and it was boring (it made ME fall asleep!)

Is it just me, or wouldn't the parade have worked better for the celebration staying the same? I mean, international relationships were a big part of Walt's dream. Look at his contributions to UNICEF with Small World, his trip to South America in the 40's, and all. The parade could still have gotten an additional schpiel linking it to 100 years of magic, but since most of the parades made for the celebration were about "dreams", I think WS could have been a little more unique, continuing to celebrate international "togetherness".

Wow, mktiggerman, I can certainly see why you're no fan of ToD!

I don't care for it, either, and I think it's because I expected a bit more creativity and originality. I agree that it's repetitive, and has the air of a half-hearted effort. I certainly liked ToN a whole lot better.

I thought that ToN was kinda boring....haven't seen ToD but it doesn't sound any better :snore:

Do we really HAVE to have a parade in WS? For me it was just a horrible inconvience (sp) - I couldn't go anywhere I wanted to because of the parade traffic

And to think that CM's are being really hurt just to put it on (I hope you're okay MKTigg!) is just awful!

I'm the exception... most CM's that do it don't have problems (other than discomfort)... I, on the other hand, will be probably killed by that parade

Please don't take this the wrong way, but can't you get out of doing this parade? Especially with the injuries you suffered as a result of it?

Compare the OrlandoRocks ToN video here: http://orlandorocks.com/default.asp?page=log_video&fname=tapestry320.rm

ToD fotage, any.

ToN was the parade of the Millennium (pun not intended). It had one of the best story lines of any attraction or parade, featured talanted puppetiers and drummers, and ACTUALLY HAD SOMETHING TO EXPLAIN THE PUPPETS AND THE DRUMS!!!! ToD, all we know are those Dreamseekers.

Is ToD god awful, not really, but is it good, nope.

I do puppets, namely Disc (the rasta looking puppet), Hammer (looks like hammered sheets of metal), and Marionette (the puppet holding another puppet)

nope... WDW has basically worded the contract in a way that the only way out of ToD for me are to-

A-not perform for a year, which would render me not approved to perform (never gonna happen!)

B-go to the WDW doctors and have them remove me from entertainment altogether (HELL NO! The day that happens, I'll quit Disney permanently)

C-pay to have a private doctor word permanent medical restrictions in a way to only take me out of ToD puppets, but nothing else at WDW (too tricky, too hard, and I'm poor).

so thankfully, I know 3 other parades at WDW, 2 shows, 2 special event roles, and several backstage ancillary roles. The only reason I was being scheduled ToD recently was to fill in for the many CP CM's which stopped working for WDW.

I just think it's just a little too long, there are just a few too many and they don't need to run it TWICE!!!....that said i love the drummer guys (ya kno, the spinning drums) oh and the puppet holding another puppet, like that one too, ok, i think that's all i have to say. (though one time we had a GREAT time cause the people were all into it and happy and the people watching were singing and happy and yea, that was good)
