Anyone know why, specifically, the October 9, 15, and 23 dates cost more? Does something different happen on those days?

Nothing different, as far as I know. The non-discounted dates are just the dates that Disney knows they will sell out no matter what, so why offer a discount on them? They'll offer the discounts on the dates that they might have trouble selling out.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds good, I'll have to strategize this.

Here I thought there might be 10 percent more ghosts.

But there'll just be 10 percent more people dressed up as ghosts!

Any recommendations for what sorts of comfy costumes to wear?

I was thinking I might go like a tourist dressed in a Disney World
shirt. Just think of the hilarity!

I have done a fair bit of costuming and the most comfortable one I have worn was my Jedi costume. The least comfortable....a Borg.
