Why Choose Disney?

I lived in Florida as a kid. Spent my first 4 birthday parties at the MK. While I can’t necessarily remember, I have all the photos :). My family visited every few years after moving back to the Northeast - so it was very central to my childhood. That’s the major groundwork for my continued love of not just WDW, but all of the Disney theme parks worldwide that I’ve had the privilege to visit. Having my wedding there next year is proof that they hooked me for life. ;)
We’ve celebrated lots of family birthdays at wdw the last few years.

For me it's 100% nostalgia at this point. The trips with my family when I was a kid, and then again when I started my own family. I'm really, REALLY, hoping that galaxies edge brings back that warm fuzzy feeling for me.

I also live closer to 6 flags great adventure and a park called Dorney park.
1) I am not a big lover of thrill rides which most of these parks specialize in. they are always trying to build the biggest rollercoaster since I don't ride coasters there isn't much for me to do there
2) I find these parks are not family centered. what I mean is pretty much you go to Dorney and parents simply "follow" along or behind the kids as they run to the next ride. Disney offers the ability to engage in activities as a family.
3) variety. lol as much as folks here like to complain about how the rides are not A ticket rides or S ticket rides or whatever the metric is, the rides IMO are pretty good. especially for the average jane or joe who is not comparing it to the 1990's. Sure maybe Epcot is not like it was in 19800 whatever but it's still very unique and interesting.
I live in the same county as Six Flags Great Adventure. Yet I am not a fan of roller coasters. The point about following the kids around (I just have one though) rings true with me. BTW...we are doing Disney World this November. It will be our first time since Pandora opened. I can't wait to see it.
Hershey Park www.hersheypark.com
and
Busch Gardens Williamsburg https://buschgardens.com/williamsburg/ are closer to me than Walt Disney World. Both of these parks have rides I can participate in that are not roller coasters. Busch Gardens Williamsburg has great shows in European themed areas. If any readers of this thread have never gone....give it a try!

The wife and I talked about this while walking around Epcot last trip.........

we have friends that do cruises, friends that get houses at the Jersey shore for a week, friends that do Key West, NC Beaches, etc..

To us, it seems when you do one of THOSE...its one thing. Its a house at a beach for a week. 7 days. A house. The beach.

In Disney, there is always something to do different. Somewhere to go that we haven't been. Something to eat we haven't eaten
Its not just drinking in a bar at a resort...or eating..

Its watching a guy throw a ball into a net in Italy...then giving you the ball and you miss until he walks up to you and you drop it in...and not minding that...its mice, mermaids and mountains..
Its shows, memories.....and best of all, my wife loves it there, I love it there, which makes every vacation better than the last.

We wouldn't trade it for anything
