Who's #1 and other questions for the newbie

WDWMAGIC.COM is great! Is it the most popular WDW site? If not, what is? Also, it seems this site originates in the UK. Is this correct? If so, how does the operator keep up-to-date on what's happening at WDW on a daily basis--ESP, Interpol, Scotland Yard?

Here is a question I posted by mistake on the "WDW Secrets" forum yesterday:

Please, I do not intend to offend anyone, but what is the purpose of the quotes, etc. that some posters have on every reply or thread? Is it some secret code or subliminal message? I find them distracting to say the least. Sometimes it takes me a minute or so to figure out the response wading thru all the stuff (5-letter word) that is tacked on.

P.S. I now understand these are "signatures" like my banal "Don't take . . . .," but I still think they are distracting at the least, and puffery at the most.

I will try to answer this. Steve is "The man" and is from overseas. As you may notice though, most of the information on this site is provided through people like you and I. It's such a perfect site. We are all very important in the information system. Of course, Steve probably has links to people who know things through other people you know.

About the quotes and signatures, you won't get them all. I dont know what all of them mean, but it's just each person's own little way of expressing themselves. I do sometimes wish people would not abbreviate everytyhing as I myself don tknow what they all mean somtimes.

Yeah I'm a little peeved that no one has commented on my insanely brilliant signature. Surely there are other people in this world that saw the TBS shorts called "Monkey-ed Movies".

Steve is the James Bond of Disney. Though I'm not sure what his luck with the "ladies" is :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I was going to make a post asking if there was a special decoder ring I could get but I figured I just have to stick it out and catch on sometime (or maybe there's a list somewhere...? Somebody help me out...). I am very embarrassed to admit it took me at least 2 days reading posts to figure out MK meant Magic Kingdom. I promise I am not a extremely stupid person...although that is kinda sad (I'd like to point out I haven't been to WDW as far as I can remember).

Oh and the quotes...I find them hilarious. A few are but some I LOL at the 3rd or 4th time I read them. They can liven up a post. I wish I was cool enough to have a good one.

A Tip for the NewBie, next time, Post the thread in Chitchat, or another "Chatting" forum, it cleans up the Chitchat threads from the Disney threads

:wave: There is a forum just for new members, it has all sorts of useful info. (yes, there is one on abbreviations). Don't feel too badly, I've been here awhile & I still run across a few abbrviations that make me stop & think.
If the signatures bother you they can be turned off. I kinda like them. I try to change mine every few weeks just to keep you on your toes.
