I must be alone here , but i visited DCA for the first time about three weeks ago. actualy it was my first time ever in California. I actualy rather enjoyed DCA and thought it was very well themed. of course i'm a slower pace kind of guy and found the stuff based around California s history very interesting. I guess that stuff is boring to Californians, but thought it was great.

and to be honest i found the theming to be a lot better worked out then with what the current state MGM studios is now.

DCA will basically become a hybrid of Disney MGM Studios and the unbuilt Disney's America concept (except in this case it would only focus on themes in california's rich history). This is why they brought Bob Weiss back to WDI to spearhead this project since he oversaw the MGM Studios in Orlando for its first decade and also developed the Disney's America Concept. This will include a complete retheming of Paradise Pier into a Victorian Boardwalk theme and a Carland that focuses on California's car culture. Within Carland will be a Radiator Springs miniland that the Cars E-ticket (A delux themed version of Test Track) will be located in. Other rumored plans include a Mine train attraction, the addition of audio animatronics to Grizzly River Rapids, a Nighttime water show (this is confirmed), and a brand new themed enterance that will give Main Street U.S.A. a run for its money.

The big Pirate thing? Don't think so. I think it was killed a little while back. Too bad, but maybe it will free up Tim Delaney to work on a WDW project. I tend to like his stuff.

If they were smart they would promote Tim Delaney to a creative lead role for Magic Kingdom. The guy is very talented. After enjoying his take on Tomorrowland in 1994 and seeing his concept art for the Pirates land for HKDL...I think he could do wonders for MK.

I don't know whether fully funding both in the immediate term is possible or not. Hopefully it is. But, if it's not, they'd be idiots not to follow the money to HKDL:
