Who saw the Disney Marathon?

Did any of you see any of the Disney Marathon weekend festivities? It was a blast! I did the 5k, but next year I am doing the half marathon. It is so inspiring to watch! The 5k and family races are really fun too. I saw this couple who ran the marathon and when they got to mile 10 they got married, then they finished the marathon! They were both dressed in wedding type running clothes with the mickey bride/groom hats on, it was too cute!:sohappy:

Yeah, we "ran" into it. DW and family are down here at WDW right now. We had PS ressies for CP at MK yesterday morning and the marathon messed up traffic royally. The CMs were warning us to take the bus in the morning and we're glad we did. Bus from BWV to TTC, through a bit of a detour from the bus, then express monorail to the MK. I was kinda disappointed to see all the people in MK as we headed down Main Street to the CP for breakfast. We make a point to get our PS ressies before the normal opening so that MS is fairly empty, but not so yesterday.

That said, it looked like the race was a blast. I saw a lot of "Disney-fied" runners. Heck, it made me wish that I could run again (bad knees), and that's really saying something.

I didn't but my uncle was down there. He hadn't decided if he was going to run or not last time I talked to him. I'll have to get a hold of him sometime and ask him if he did run and how he did.

ran the full marathon

I was in the race! I did the full marathon in 3 hours, 31 minutes. I did the marathon for the first time last year and was determined to come back and do better, which I did by 15 minutes.

The entertainment along the course was a lot better this year and nothing can beat the run down main street.
