Who makes up the wait staff at WDW restaurants?

Is it college program kids or locals? Can you pick which restaurant you want to work at or they just place you where it's needed?

The world showcase restaurants get their wait staff from their home country I assume?

Just wondering.

Wait staff are locals since CP are only there for a short time. When you get hired as a server, you pick 5 restaurants that you want to work at. Then you get on a list, when your restaurant comes up and you are next on the list you get called and offered the spot. Depending on what restaurants you qualify for or choose...this could take a while
