The jobs are good, but don't pay crap.
Is it great to be M I C K E Y M O U S E?
Well, he has a woman that hasn't left him even though they have only been dating for 75 years. He has friends and a dog that doesn't age a day. And he is the mascot of a several billion dollar company. I'd say it's great to be Mickey.
Or is it hot and stressful?
Well, his film schedule has to be atronomical, so I guess it is stressful. And stage lights are very hot, so I guess he is hot.
I bet the audition process that Walt held for the mascot position was huge. How do you pick that one star from all of the singing mice, pigs, horses, and monkeys?
Is it more of a career, where someone keeps it for years?
Well, Mickey has had his job for over 75 years. I guess it is a career.
Is it political or based on seniority or merit?
We all know Mickey has worked the politics. How do you think he was able to keep them from making Mickey's Christmas Carol, Part II?
Are the "face" characters' jobs more prestigious?
Well, they aren't the head cheese of Disney, but most of the are Princesses. Can't do much better than that.
How hard is it to keep silent if you are Mickey or Minnie or Donald or Goofy, etc.?
I tried asking Mickey that one time. He stared at me for ten minutes without a peep. It was very scary. I would say practice makes perfect. And how they keep Donald quiet scares me. As much noise as he makes in his films, they must shove a hot poker up his butt.
Any info at all would be appreciated!
Don't ask the character questions. We have a thing called Character integrity. The characters don't exist for just the kids. According to Walt, we are all kids or kids at heart. Just enjoy the magic.
